The best thing is remembering that 'books you don't hate' don't all have to be well-crafted masterpieces of literature. They can be fun and silly and even poorly-written sometimes.

Exactly! Sometimes a book just ✨works✨ and it doesn’t have to be a novel prize contender to do so. It’s possible to write something enjoyable and well crafted.

I would love a rant review style for any of the dark books you loved (Flowers in the attic, helpmeet, disseverement, etc)! A review where you make jokes, walk us through the plot, react as we go, and do interpretive readings but for a book you loved :)! I am drawn to the rant reviews for the longer format and entertainment value.

I watched Reads with Rachel's videos about what we like on a reviewer that makes us trust them, so I've thought about why I trust who I like. And like you said, the rants get the clicks. But for me, your unabashed opinion on why you dislike things is so appreciated. I hear you call out bullshit, so I trust you when you say something isn't. Same with Rachel. I'm about to add like 6 of these books to my tbr

I haven’t watched “You” and I don’t plan to. Not my thing. My comfort reads are the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris, that “True Blood” is based on, a lot of Carolyn Brown’s southern romantic comedy books, and the Harry Potter series. 😅
