So now I know you can mass accept follow requests if you temporarily go public. This makes sense because these people don't seem smart enough to program bots. Also the guy was probably lying about making 5K in two weeks but still, there is money to be made in stealing content if you're willing to be a piece of shit. EVERYTHING ELSE CHECKS OUT, OKAY. I really appreciate you for sharing something that's going on and affecting a lot of creators, including you. Never supported those types of media and probably won't, again, there's nothing new, nor interesting and especially original, haha. In my native language there is a word ''pustyshka'', which describes something, that is supposed to have a certain value or meaning, but in reality it ends up being an empty ''shell''. I would use this word to describe these kind of accounts.

I'm just genuinely concerned with the fact that taking someone else's content isn't considered illegal and, like, intellectual property law infringement. I know on KZbin you can copyright strike someone's stuff if it's stolen, but I guess with instagram and twitter you don't own any of the stuff you put out, so you can't claim it's yours, legally? Super frustrating
@inpropriapaislee6 жыл бұрын
jess yes you can, so long as it actually is yours and is actual intellectual property, that doesn’t include selfies or anything like that unless you’re stealing someone’s identity. You always own content you create, the system for reporting infringement and it being handled is the difference here, and a lot less false claims happen on Instagram an Twitter than on KZbin at least partially bc of that.
@laurene9885 жыл бұрын
In the EU it is now, thanks to article 13
@krnzio5 жыл бұрын
It definitely is copyright infringement. It’s just that claiming it is hard and you need money to spend on a lawyer, because instagram or other sites won’t do shit to help you.
@jalisaalanaye16625 жыл бұрын
It’s not illegal because obviously it’s too hard to catch every single person who steals other people’s content and actually get the persons real name and information to get them a court date to see a judge and actually get sentenced , it would be way too much work.

Every time I see one of your longer videos, I think to myself that there's no way I'm going to be entertained all the way through or that I'll have to break it up into segments. I mean, this is the equivalent of an episode of TV, but without the benefit of following different plots. But every single time, I not only find that your videos flow, are entertaining all the way through, and don't at all feel like half an hour, but I'm disappointed when they end so soon. Late comment but I have a great example of this. My mother is a chalk artist and will be flown around the US to do amazing high skill chalk art. A lot of the time she has to deal with places photographing her art and not giving her credit. What is even more frustrating is when they give credit to the photographer and not her!
@rileylittleraven2 жыл бұрын
Late reply, but: your mom sounds AWESOME and very talented - I hate that she has to deal with people plagiarizing her life's work like that!
@falakrafi2 жыл бұрын
Credit only to the photographer only works in 2 settings, one they took pics of nature (and even then they'll drop location) or if the photographer's medium *is* photography. Anything else is just dumb and a quick way to get "clout" and recognition for someone else's work- so gross >:( Also, your mom's work sounds incredible and I have so much respect for the amount of work that goes into elaborate chalk art I bet she's amazing!
@pumkinpatchwork Жыл бұрын
that’s extremely frustrating. is there any way she is allowed to write her name or social media username in her art so that if it is photographed her name will be in it too? (like the physical version of a signature or watermarking an artwork I guess) it won’t resolve the issue of reposters not giving credit but at the very least the people viewing the art will know who actually made it.
@astroboystan Жыл бұрын
that's fucked! i understand photographers being artists as well, but if the picture is of someone else's art, there's not much art they put into it! there's no reason they shouldn't split credit
