I don’t think I could be at beach club or boardwalk without going to Epcot.. same with resorts close to magic kingdom.AKL will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first place we ever stayed

We stayed at AKL on our last trip because we knew it was going to be a very busy time to visit and wanted somewhere to escape and relax. It's a great choice for a resort only stay because there is so much to do at the hotel.

Good to see Skier Pete getting airtime, his charts (with Bing’s help) are amazing. AKL isn’t my favourite because especially when not walking around the parks, I like to stroll, run get out. At AKL there is nowhere to walk! Also the Kidani pool has lots of stinging bees.

I'd choose the Poly. It's got great pools, love the Tiki torches at night, love Trader Sam's, it has Dole Whip, love watching the fireworks from the beach, you can boat around seven seas lagoon and Bay Lake, monorail access to all the restaurants at the other monorail resorts, wonderful quick service.

The more I watch this show the more interesting it gets, been a DVC owner since 2003 and have enjoyed every visit to the resorts. I'm with Jackie, Beach Club is my favorite. Great show!

What a great show!! Last summer, we decided to do a resort only trip. We chose Old Key West, and had an amazing time. It was so relaxing. But I gotta say, I think the best overall resort, besides AKV, for a resort only stay is Ft Wilderness, and while it's not DVC, the new DVC that they're going to build on River Country will be... and I am willing to bet, when it opens, it'll make a fabulous resort only experience.

I’m not surprised about AKL. The FOOD is so great, the lodge itself is so authentic and awe inspiring, a great atmosphere, as well as the animals to watch.

We love staying at Saratoga Springs because it's next to Disney Springs, The pool at Kidani Village and FOOD and the feel of the resort makes you truly feel like your not at Disney. Those are our go to for a stay when we go for Disney Moonlight magic nights.

I own at AKV but would 100% stay at Old Key West if i'm not visiting the parks. It's a laid back, chill vibe. The Gurgling Suitcase with the open wall leading out to the lit-up open 'boardwalk' type feel, is such a relaxing environment. And HELLO?! Olivia's is here - Key Lime Pie FTW! And absolutely love that I can take a tranquil boat ride over to Disney Springs for shopping, eating, and late night entertainment. Have I sold you yet? :)

I REALLY want to try Old Key West, I’m just not sure if I should, since I don’t use a car when I’m staying onsite at WDW.

Jessi Frenzel I don’t use a car either! The last time I used a rental was in 2012. The last time I stayed at OKW, I used Uber/Lyft to get to the Disney Character Warehouse, but honestly the boat ride to Disney Springs is very nice and I feel like the buses are never super crowded. You really should check it out sometime, you’ll love it!

Jessi Frenzel you’re correct, it is definitely a large resort! However, they have golf carts that CM’s drive around and you’re allowed to hitch a ride with them! So if you’re staying in a building furthest away from the Hospitality Area (dining/shopping area), they can take you!

We just got back from five days at OKW. I love this resort for just plain relaxation. The rooms are huge. It really feels like your home. Although I don't play golf, it was nice to sit on the deck (which is twice as big as most other DVC balconies) and watch golfers. I admit there isn't much to do at OKW, but it is just a boat ride away from Disney Springs.

We absolutely love Animal Kingdom Lodge. We always try to take in at least one of their free culinary tours, and we have really enjoyed the wine tastings that Jiko offers. Our kids absolutely adore the pool and animal areas, and of course, we all love the food choices.

Jackie! Coney Island is in my backyard! Come for a visit, you'll be surprised on how much it has changed and how much it hasn't. The roller coaster is the CYCLONE! Come on, I'll ride it with you!

My grandparents lived in Brooklyn, and my grandfather used to take me to Coney Island when I was a child. So many happy memories. No wonder I love Boardwalk villas so much. I even love the maniacal clown slide, and the Todd, Paul, Carrie et al chairs.

Pete, Life is short, buy every DVC you want. We started with BCV and added on muliple times at AKV. Never regretted it.

The resorts I think of are Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek, Animal Kingdom, Polynesian, and Saratoga Springs for it's proximity to Disney Springs.

Old Key West #1, privacy, private side pools, genuinely feels more like home with spacious rooms including studios. Own at OKW and AKK have stayed at both many times, but OKW is home.

Great show!!! I live in Ontario, Canada. Last week I was staying at DW from having not been there since 2009. Seeing how the crows are now , 10 years later, it’s crazy the sea of people that are in the parks, and I found it to be a turn off. We stayed at Contemporary Resort, park view, club level, and I didn’t want to leave the resort. My daughter (6 yrs old) could care less about the parks and how busy they where. She just wanted to be by the pool all day. I found it funny how the crazy crowds turned off a 6 year old from riding rides, and we had fast passes for the rides she wanted. Next time we came back I’d like to spend more time at the resort then the parks.

I'm from just south of Vero and it's primarily a beach town but the downtown area (about a 15 minute drive from DVBR) has some nice sightseeing and great restaurants! The Ocean Grill is a favorite of my family and is known for having some of the best steak and seafood on the Treasure Coast.

We took out first trip last year without kids and stayed at the poly now we did go to epcot one day and MK desert party. However when my husband and I were sitting by the pool he said he easily could just do a resort day. One of the reasons we are thinking about adding points lol lol

I agree - there's nothing to do around Vero Beach. However Hilton Head is quite the opposite. Beautiful town with nice shops and excellent restaurants. Also a short drive to Savannah which in my opinion is a must see city in the USA.

Please, please, please. Take the short drive to Ft. Pierce. TONS to do in an Old Florida town not ruined by tourists. Been visiting the Treasure Coast for 25+ years. Love Vero.

Pete you are so committed! Last time I heard you owned only at Coper Creek and Boulder Ridge and you added 2 more contracts since then! Most people tell you to own where you want to stay and that is true for some of the resorts but I always see availability at Saratoga at the 7 month mark so I think you should be fine using the points you own at 7 months (my 2 cents) I currently own at Poly but for a resort only vacation I would choose Beach Club. When the time is right I will be adding a contract in one of the Boardwalk resorts.

It doesn't surprise me AT ALL that AKL won the popular vote. In fact, I'm kind of surprised that this seemed to shock you guys? I agree that I can't imagine staying at one of the monorail resorts and not going into MK. Similarly, I can't imagine staying at either Boardwalk or Beach Club and not being tempted to go into either Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

I love animal kingdom lodge and book a stay every year but what we've really fallen in love with is Vero beach. We've stayed there twice within the last five months.

I surmise from watching you guys for the past few years that collectively you guys are not big sports fans. Boardwalk provides the chance for a sports get away. If your team gets to the big game (or even better, finals series), the ESPN club provides the only opportunity on property to have a dedicated sports party. Giant screens, audio from the game, the collective cheering from the crowd, and you aren't ruining someone else's vacation experience like you might at one of the restaurant bars elsewhere at Disney.

Sadly can’t agree with the Aulani as best, IF you go at max capacity it is a nightmare, trust me we just came back and it was less than magical ( it was a festival weekend with stage, screen and tents blocking the beach.., and a Japanese holiday so it was 💯 at capacity and the rest of the resort and staff can’t handle a full house, justvthe square footage alone made it very crowded everywhere you went. Forget about trying to book anything unless you waited in line well before the line even opened. I saw so many videos and it looked beautiful- pool was something out of a movie with people on top of you. I much preferred our time in Kauai prior. I love WDW, DCL and Disneyland but I doubt I will return to Aulani :(

Nothing near Vero? Are you kidding me? Head to Ft. Pierce for the day. Manatee Center. Backus Gallery. 7 Gables House. Farmer's Market. First Friday Concerts. Biker Church on Sunday at Archie's Sea Breeze. St. Lucie County Museum. Oceanographic Institute. UDT/SEAL Museum. The Sunrise Theater. Oh my stars! (Ask me about the dining! Ugh!) The drive is less than a half hour. Full disclosure: I do not and never have lived in Ft. Pierce. Not a travel agent.

Jackie, you can't say, "for me, it's the Beach Club" and then rattle off everything at The Boardwalk as to why you like to stay there. If you're comparing resorts, the Boardwalk is the lobby for The Boardwalk Inn and Villas. There are no restaurants, shopping, arcade, spa, gym - whatever - inside the Boardwalk as there are at other resorts. It's all outside on the Boardwalk.

Well Aulani has no theme park soooooo... of course you'd only stay at the resort. Resort only stays are for people who just want to take some quick time off, they wouldn't be flying to Hawaii for that. Besides, they're so poor :( they can only afford the mainland DVC memberships. Sounds like you wouldn't understand that level of poor.
