Out of these shows, I prefer Armitage III and Dominion Tank Police, with their combination of weird comedic scenes with some very emotional moments. In Dominion Tank Police, The villain is a very tragic figure. Armitage III shows a badass mother, who despite her origins, act more humane than most humans in the show.

I'm not an avid Anime watcher anymore, but was in my middle and high school days. But, I'm glad the YT algorithm brought me to your channel. I'd rather learn about shows than watch them myself, but you and the comment section sold me on Gunsmith Cats. On a side note, I was trying to think of other fantasy anime and then just realized that my favorite anime of all time is technically an Isekai and I just don't know how to process that. With so much trashy Isekai... It's just... My brain can't seem to cope. I'm talking about Magic Knight Rayearth, by the way. My world is not the same anymore... *sigh*

I want to say Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight is good, but I don't think I can. In many ways it stands as a decent-to-good standalone anime but expects you to be just familiar enough with the OVA that it has to be viewed as a companion piece/sequel, and in that context it just doesn't stand up. Also, Pirotess best elf

Tut, you bring up Dominion Tank Police without atleast a casual mention of Patlabor? Otherwise known as the other cop franchise with a cute red headed tomboy who is in love with her machine, and delivers justice through excessive firepower. Also my favourite guilty pleasure for a bit of 80s ultra violent shlock is Violence Jack. Three OVAs, the plots aren't much, but when the violence kicks off you're in for a visceral ride.

Ater watching Record of the Lodoss war for the first time I found it getting incredibly boring after the first three episodes. Despite the claims about the "incredible" animation, it's really not and it couldn't be amazing since the economic climate of Japan at the time didn't allow for the monstrous budgets anymore. Deedlit getting jealous over Parn fanboying over the mercenary king is the highest point of the whole season indeed. Well, I guess it's been revolutionary for the time, when the serious and good looking fantasy title was worth its weight in gold.
@thomasffrench3639 Жыл бұрын
Megazone 23 was kinda mid ngl. I wasn’t really into the first part besides some of the animation, but the change of aesthetic in the second part just made me feel immediately disconnected with the characters and I dipped.
