As a kid, what stuck out the most to me in this scene was Vincent's parting glance back at Bob as he was leaving. For characters who are otherwise expressionless, the puppeteers did a pretty good job conveying emotion.

It just occurred to me, the shadow across the top of Vincent's eye breaks that solid square shape and gives that slant associated with sadness seen in cartoon eyebrows, same for Bob with his crooked lid. The director and the puppeteers were really on point with is movie.

As a kid at the drive in I was really broken up at this scene. Bob was my favorite character in the movie. Looking back he went on good terms. He did something that helped save everyone (felt useful one last time) and his power reserve held on long enough for him to say goodbye to his friend.

Very sad; I remember being really upset when B.O.B. died. Even sadder than either of the drones in Silent Running (although weirdly, it's the lonely survival of Dewey with Joan Baez singing that does it with that film). The Black Hole is a better film than the majority of people remember.

@johnedsel4 жыл бұрын
They didn't get credited partly because Disney didn't want to attribute a human face with a robot to preserve the movie fantasy. Also voice actors get paid a higher flat fee when they're uncredited, but then they lose out on future royalties.

Synthetic life, and organic life could be considered one in the same. Both are technically machines the only difference is "life" is bio-mechanical and carbon based, and synthetic life is techno-mechanical and silicon based. Both run on electricity, both require a source of power, whether it be fuel or other wise, and both are capable of intelligence, possibly even sentience, what makes an artificially intelligent life form any less of an organism than a bio-intelligent life form?
