I hear ya, sister! Mostly due to COVID-19, I had to wait 3 years for a hip replacement, which finally happened Nov. '22. That went very well, ut the rest of my body seems to be rapidly falling apart. Fortunately, over many years I collected (probably) a ton of rocks at the Claif. beaches near where I live. I Placedthem outdoors around my garden and house and enjoyed them like old friends that way. I started watching rockhounds on KZbin around the time of my hip replacement, learned a lot, and realized that I could rockhound in my very own yard, even though I'm not as mobile as I used to be. 🪨🪴🪨🏡🪨🐦🪨

Just found your channel. When I was 5 years old about 50 years ago. My family and I went somewhere up by Table Rock area I think. What I remember that a dam was going to be built and put the area under water. We went to hunt for Quartz Crystals; and they were everywhere. Some how my Mon and I got separated from the rest of family. Well my Dad and oldest brother started to whistle. So we started to walk through the forest towards the them. As we were making are way I look to my left and under a pine tree there were 7-9 giant Quartz Crystals septers sticking out of the ground. We went iver to them and tried to get them out, but couldn't move them. I thiught I could out my feet at the bottom and hands on top and just pull it out of the ground. My Mon said ket head to family still whistling and yelling at this time. When we found them we told them about Crystals and tried locating them for about 1 hour...but never did.....I have never forgotten that day. I would estimate the ine I tried pulling out was about 12-14" and about 6-8" in diameter.

Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Doest that area have vibrant jaspers! The scenery there is beautiful! The raven "kaw-ing" was magical. Brings back such spiritual memories. I've felt the most alive during excursions like this... when having that quiet moment in nature.

The Klamaths have some of the oldest “rocks” on earth. They and the Blues and Hells Canyon in Eastern Oregon have never been buried by the lava or river ocean deposits of the last 15,000 years. Then right up against them are areas where ancient lakes deposited and of course the stuff from lava flows and volcanic eruptions. Have fun!!

I always check you tube for rockhounds in Oregon, and I saw your video Rockhounding near Medford Oregon and I was truly amazed at what you found on Worthington Road. My mom lives in Medford and my father-in law lives in Grants Pass now I know where to go to get some Agates, Petrified wood and Jasper when I go to visit them. I always did my rock hounding for Carnelian Agates in Lebanon and Sweet home Oregon. My wife and I and a friend dug some Carnelian Agates in Lebanon and we dug up a 15 pound and a 35-pound Carnelian Agate. We also dug some Roger Mountain Petrified Wood in Scio Oregon. Now that I was amazed at what you found on Worthington Road sight I want to go there. You truly found some great specimens there. I recently retired and now I have all the time to go hunting agates, Pet wood and Agatized Jasper. Thank you also for letting your viewers know where to go. Some people out there don't disclose their honey holes because that's their spot to go. Keep them videos coming. I must ask you though, can people still go looking for the pet wood, jasper and agates off of Worthington Road where you were at these days. Can you give me a close location as to how far to go down Worthington Road to go rock hounding, is there a mile post marker to your rock hounding location, like how far to go? I greatly appreciate your video and hope one day we can meet up. William

I greatly appreciate your support and Worthington/Obenchain are still very much open for collecting. If you look at how Worthington/Obenchain connect you'll see there is a great deal of productive area but specifically, Ive been telling people to go to the yellow gate on the left hand side of Worthington and park. 200yrds up and you'll be in jasper thick. Go up 200yrds and to the left 200yrds and you'll be in Pet Wood country (big stuff). Up 200yrds and to the right 200yrds, will start showing signs of agate/crystals. I've got plans to do a meet up out there or set some pins on my GPS to share but haven't gotten that done yet. Chat with you again soon and appreciate all your support.

We just returned from Worthington Rd. Many have been prospecting this area. It’s covered now with ground cover so finding the good stuff is a challenge. The road itself is steep and very rocky. It’s 2 miles to get to the very top so do go off road and look. We found the hike to be a good workout. Now is a good time to go. We didn’t bring home any thing worth bragging about. We could hear rocks getting beat telling us that the big stuff is in the ground. If your in great shape and have all day and cool weather then go, but don’t expect to find big stuff. Most of it has been taken or is in the ground.

Was here yesterday and stumbled onto some jasper boulders in the area (way too big to move). Late spring makes it hard to see the ground. Too many stinking wild flowers! Still more jasper thank you can shake a stick at. A few agates but no pet wood.

Great to hear you were able to check things out ^^. The pet wood is up and off to the left about 200 yrds. I think I'm going to try and do a meetup out there soon to help people with a few spots. Thanks for watching and chat with you soon!

@@TheRogueRockhound Thank you very much kind sir for the generous offer but hope you know that I'd rather hunt the material with you than receive what I know would be an amazing gift from you. (a more satisfying experience IMO) After the snow thaws in the passes this spring I should head down and meet you somewhere for a day or two of hunting. Just text and let me know when where (weekends are best) and I'll adjust my schedule as able. (maybe con Jared into meeting us somewhere? haha) Anyway, fyi..think I'm gonna head back to the same spot this Memorial Day except hunt other areas before the heavy lithium mining begins and if there are some trucks with higher clearance, take folks out to thunderegg beds, a stream with all kinds of stuff and a massive brecciated yellow/red jasper rock outcrop. Talk again soon, have an awesome holiday season!

During the winter is the best time to take young kids and my friend has taken all three of his out there to hound a few times now. I think his oldest is six and youngest is three. The summer time is a different story as the poison oak can be a bit thick and the ground is dry and hard making extraction hard at times. I appreciate you watching and starting the next generation of rockhounds out early ^^ Look forward to chatting with you again and if you need any tips on other places to check out, feel free to ask! Sorry for the late reply. I mostly use a backpack from the military surplus store because of the durability and molly anchors. As for pick, usually just the estwing chipping hammer.
