This is something I've thought through before, and almost all your picks were also my picks haha. With KH2 it definitely feels more obvious since rooms rarely stand out there. In KH1, there's a bit more decision making because most of them are actually well designed, shocker.

Loved this video! “Proof of Existence” is also one of my favorite locations in the series. Its gameplay purpose is obvious, but I believe it also serves a narrative purpose. Throughout KH2, Sora believes, as DiZ and Yen Sid do, that Nobodies are “nonexistent” because they don’t have hearts. This ignorance motivates Sora to mercilessly strike down the Organization members without a second thought. But as early as Demyx, who displays genuine emotion when he realizes he’s dying, Sora is confronted with evidence that the Organization members do actually “exist.” When we reach the “Proof of Existence,” we see, definitively, that the Organization members believed in their own existences. It was not just a “ruse” as Yen Sid told Sora in the beginning. It being a graveyard is a striking image by itself, but it also makes us reconsider our (Sora’s) role in the story as we head into the climax where these themes will all resolve.

There has to be more FFX content in Kingdom Hearts. So far we have 6 reps with Auron being a special case. Tidus, Wakka, and Yuna are KH's version of themselves and most likely at this point Tidus and Wakka have no knowledge of Yuna, Rikku and Payne same goes the other way around. However with Auron is has been heavily implied that this Auron is from FFX as he has memories of his time as Lord Braska's Guardian. Also he is brought back in a unique way, Hades brings him back from the dead and In the ending of KH2, when Auron decides to pass away again, he turns into Pyreflies. KH has shown 3 ways a person passes away: 1) They turn to light and their heart goes to KH's version of heaven 2) When someone loses both their body and heart they end up in The Final World 3) When someone with great darkness dies their hearts go to the Realm Of Darkness. So its extremely odd that Auron gets the special treatment of turning into Pyreflies and now that we have confirmation that Kingdom Hearts will deal with a Multiverse we might see Auron and the other cast of FFX again along with Cloud and Sephiroth Also the place that Sora and Yozora are is called Quadratum which means Square (Square Enix)

Twilight Town. The place I have been born in my childhood dreams. KH2 was my first game in the series and I took myself at least 10h in Twilight Town before leaving that world for the first time. Back then, even as just one world, it still was my favorite game as a kid. Sure, there weren't many stuff to do, hut the music and atmosphere were the greatest points , enough for me to rank it in my #1. Even today, I love it. I cried tears when I saw it in KH3 for the first time. Then I cried again a bit later, because it was so small. Once as a kid I've dreamt growing up and living in Twilight Town. The dream felt like 10 years of experience. When I woke up, I cried that it all was just a dream, it felt too real and I forgot about life.

YESSSS HOLLOW BASTION'S LIBRABY IS THE BEST ROOM IN THAT GAME.... OR PROBABLY THE WHOLE SERIES. I just love the book puzzles in that room and how you're transforming the room with bookshelves and also how memorable the location is add to it. Another location I like is the reverse waterfall at the start of Hollow Bastion. That one wouldn't be as cool if it weren't for those warp bubbles. I love those warp bubbles. I actually like Agrabah's town level design as a whole. I think it's really fun and had some nice platforming going on.

the thing about KH2's level design being so simple and kinda boring to traverse, is that when i got the final mix version and went into the cavern for the first time i was legit shocked that i couldn't make it to the next room without leveling up the form abilities. like, if that room was in KH1 i wouldn't have been surprised, but in KH2 i did not expect that. its such a deviation from the norm in that game and it makes me kinda sad that the rest of the game isn't like that.

I’d always liked to think that it was Saïx who was smashing up the Proof of Existence headstones the whole time, since the first members of the org died because he sent them to die in Castle Oblivion. That, and the fact that they’re no longer being destroyed after he’s dead (his own and Luxord’s remain in-tact, so they must not be spontaneously exploding or anything. Obviously that’s also for gameplay purposes, but still). My own interpretation for why Zexion’s is far more damaged is that Saïx really really hated Zexion in particular, likely because Zexion would have been the most likely to sniff out his plan to overthrow Xemnas. Another angle is that Zexion has a ton of secrets he knows about the organization and Ansem’s laboratory that he picked up as a child and has always kept sealed tight, information that Saïx was dying to know but he refused to tell anyone. (this is implied but he fact that apparently he has some info about the chamber of repose/awakening that even Xigbar didn’t have, and is even further reinforced by all the subject X stuff in KH3)

I really loved the keyhole room of Deep Jungle. For Hollow Bastion, great pick, so many difficult choices for the best room. I'd say the keyhole room, or the first location you fight riku! So memorable. For Twilight Town I always thought sunset hill was beautiful. For KH2 Radient Garden, the main area outside Merlin's house was structurally so fun to glide around, and use Peter Pan summon. Used to do circuits a lot for leveling up drive/items

honestly i prefer the mountain village in land of dragons, i remember i spent like half an hour jumping around on the rooftops and when it got destroyed i was all bummed out, and then super happy when it got fixed, and then spent another half an hour jumping on the rooftops again

Lovely list with a ton of rooms I totally agree with. Now for the worlds where I disagree, starting with KH1 Deep Jungle: Waterfall Cave. Just love that kind of aesthetic. Agrabah: Treasure Room. Is pretty. Atlantica: The first room you spawn in. Hollow Bastion: Rising Falls, though it BARELY beats the library. To Chains of Memory: Any of the Castle Oblivion rooms. I love that clean white stuff. KH2: Twilight Town: Tram Commons, the obvious answer. Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden: Garden of Assembly, more of that reverse waterfall goodness. Land of Dragons: The starting room. Underworld: Hade's Throne Room. Port Royal: The Town. It just has the best visuals IMO. Agrabah: Uhm... Just outside of the city I guess. Halloween Town: Christmas Town. The place has pretty colors and a great atmosphere. If only there were some NPC's waddling around. Pride Lands: The Oasis, because I love that kind of aesthetic. 100 Acre Woods: Pooh's House. Cozy and chill. Tron world: Just outside the MCP room. TWTNW: Picking the obvious Memory Skyscraper. It would be that or Saix's room.

When I was a kid, I was a Nintendo boi and that was all my parents bought for me, I played platformers and TLOZ RPGs. It wasn't until I was 14 that I was able to buy an old PS2 and KH2 alongside it since KH 1 wasn't available anymore and it was amazing for me to experience an "action" RPG, I understand the map design isn't that good but it's the reason that for me, it's the best in the series.
