My theory about Hades its funny and non-sense BUT STILL gets sense... Hear me out... Maybe Hades lost on PROPOSE all that times, knowing the real Organization XIII objetives, or better? Maybe he KNOWS about The Master Of Masters, since NO ONES Knows exacly if he is dead or not, and if he is, he probably pass trough Hades domains, and WIN against him, because EVERY existence in EVERY world need to pass trough The Underworld, this is officialy seen about Auron, Cloud and even Zack, that by lore (if they could and do in somepoint follow they original FF games), its death at the point he appears (maybe with replaced memories or do not even knowing Aerith yet because of the Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden invasion, as we know by Cid on the manga from KH1). Hades NEVER show his true power, probably because he knows if he destroy Sora or Hercules, the entire world, with its rounded everytime by heartless, unverseds and other mythlogic beasts (ones that Hades have all control, but the others not, since Heartless just obey trully Maleficent because she is "true evil" or high levels of "evil" and Hades its not that evil, because he STILL A GOD and nothing more then that), thing will get a little lost of control and his world could be doomed and guess what? "How will want a gemstone of the Lord Of The Underworld? Its free! Take it!".

I think it would be important to define what you mean by “spin-off” because it seems like you think a spin-off can’t have a continuation of a story when I personally think most spin-offs continue a story in some way.
