@@omazuera I know a lot of reviewers say it’s a drawback of the shoe, but I haven’t had major issues with slipping on roads, even in wet conditions. The grip gets better after about 20 miles and hasn’t shown any wear, so it should last a long time. If you are worried about slipping or run sometime on trails you could go with the TR version and be fine

I’ve really only tried New Balance’s new stuff this year (More V4 and SC Trainer), so that’s obviously my top brand, but I’m so intrigued by Saucony and ASICS. I really liked the Tempus from trying them in store, and the Novablast 3 will be a must try in 2023. Race shoes will still be Vaporfly until further notice but if the Endo Pro 3 goes on sale I might have to give it a try. I think Hoka has invested way more into their trail side, as their trio of SG5, MS4, and TectonX are all excellent trail options. Nike has something special with the Zegama, they just need to slim it down and obviously work on the rubber compounds. Most disappointing for me has to be Altra, as their Mont Blanc basically arrived DOA due to the fit issues, and their more exciting road options are quite expensive compared to the market.

Excellent video as usual. I have one to add, THE MOST DISAPPOINTING BRAND: For me that's Skechers ....now I know alot of people don't take them seriously but they had a great thing going. 1. They were the first with super critical foam ( I think) 2. Their winglet plate was simple and novel but worked. 3. They came out with a bang with the speed elite, the razor, the max road and the speed freek. But with all that fire power they fizzled away, why? Well my guess is, the hyperburst foam was not cushioned enough ( atleast for me) . For eg the speed elite, it was a very beautiful looking shoe, also an excellent track workout shoe but in no way a road shoe ( not enough cushioning protection). If that shoe had better cushioning and a more accommodating toe box, it could have danced with the Vaporfly or atleast the streakfly and the speed freek could have taken the endorphin pro to aleast the 8th round. Probably the problem was financial/ budgetary, who knows.

I'm really surprised you didn't put Nike among the most underwhelming brands. Nike has really dropped the ball in terms of their overall line up for the last two years. Their running like up has really gone downhill. Mizuno has been in the doldrums for years now. But I saw that they just completed building a new multi million Dollar RnD center near their headquarters in order to facilitate more innovation as they refocus on running. So hopefully Mizuno starts to make some interesting shoes again and generate some brand excitement. The Wave Rebellion Pro does look quite interesting.

Tempo day shoe all the way Takumi Sen 8. Also hard disagree with daily trainer choice because Novablast can only handle 'easy' runs due to being clunky on feet and runs long makes you go half a size down. Daily trainers should be able to handle more than easy runs imo and I think there are better shoes out there can do better in terms of versatility. For me most underwhelming brand was Nike they do great with their 'elite' tier shoes but their mid-range shoes needs serious revamp. Most impressive shoes came from Adidas and Puma this year they both have so many options for various runners which is a big plus for everbody.
