Take caution with that mat. Does a wonderful job of sifting sand and dirt but it also lets FIRE ANTS through.

We liked our too, but the edge binding started disintegrating after 7 months. Shortly thereafter the fabric holding the D-rings fell apart so we aren’t able to stake in down in windy weather. I assumed CGear customer service would provide repair suggestions, but they have not responded to 2 emails sent a month apart. It is a great mat while it lasts.

If I look at every single CGEAR review & description I still can’t get any information whatsoever about a comparison between the “Original” mat, and their “Comfort” mat. Obviously the “Comfort” mat is considerably heavier, hmm perhaps that’s all there is to it, just thicker?? It’s strange that nobody at all has even made a single comment comparing the two (and I don’t even see a thickness measurement in the specs, just length and width). The only other piece of comparison info that is available via reviews is…the carry bag for the Original is lame, and the carry bag for the heavier Comfort mat is nice. Oh well, I just decided to buy an 8’ x 8’ Original and an 8’ x 11’ Comfort. This way I could #1 compare them for myself. #2 avoid being committed to an obnoxiously large 8’ x 20’ size, yet have the option to combine the two for an 8’ x 19’ configuration (close enough). And #3 the nice 8’ x 11’ Comfort bag will easily carry the Original 8’ x 8’ on days where I am interested in just carrying the Original.
