I have the Verizon Unlimited HOT-Spot MiFi 8800L and I'm in a small town in NV and I am NOT Happy with it. If I get one of these boxes you're talking about here is that going to have better Range / Signal? OR is that what the WEBOOST is for???
@torstenmeyer29055 жыл бұрын
@@georgefenrich4119 Signal strength rather than modem is the main cause of bad performance. I use the same Verizon SIM and device and get much better reception by plugging in an external antenna. You will see small round rubber plugs to remove to access the antenna sockets. Amazon have a selection of antennas but the best I've used is directional (has to be pointed at tower) such as this: www.amazon.com/dp/B078W787GR/?coliid=I3450HVVVG96V0&colid=2AHRCW3NA37PP&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I believe this one comes with the adapter to adapter the antenna plug to your modem - SMA to TS-9

Thank you Robin, This answered a few of my questions in regard to internet/cell phone while being a Nomad. Still, if anyone knows and could point me in the right directions as to which service provider (if you could only choose one) in the US has the best/most reliable coverage for the best/reasonable price. Yes, I know it can be an oxymoron combining the best with reasonable price but... When you are on a fixed income, until I'm able to get my own business up and running, I need to know at least a little bit about which ones could be best providers and which ones I should avoid like the pest... LOL I know that boosting the signal with antennas and such does help. I do have a previous work history working with computers, fixing, installing, maintenance and such, even if it's not done remotely. I am just a total newbie when it comes to what providers are best in the US since I've lived most or rather nearly all my adult life in Europe and now lately 4 yrs. in Canada. I however have no cellphone here in Canada, since I live off grid up here and have no cell service. I have reached the stage where it is now HIGH time to leave, even if I'm going to cry my eyeballs out when I leave, since I love it out here but... Sh*t happens and you roll with the punches...

Hi Robin, Angie mentioned her "Live PC" for running PLEX for movies and that it ran on 12 volts but I don't see a link for it in this comment. Can you provide the brand name of the PC or more information about it? Thanks for a great video.

My husband and are in that rut right now. I’m 61, have seen nothing except Niagara Falls. We get up, sit in living room, spend little time in kitchen, go to bathroom, go to bed daily. I about have talked my husband into selling our condo and buying a Class C and just hitting the road. I have watched a ton of KZbin’s. I’m kinda figuring out the ups and downs, so hopefully when we make this move it will be an easy transition. Your videos have been really helpful. Safe travels. ❤️

We've been trying to nut out how to maximise the space in our pantry, and didn't want to go to the expense of buying a whole pull-out system with wire racks and all sorts of unnecessary bells-n-whistles ... and now, I have just seen the answer ... and being a handy-dandy sewing machine-r from way back I am now designing the entire thing in my head. And as you said, Robin, a most excellent internet set-up! :)

I bought my 23ft. Telstar last month and now I'm terrified!!!! I don't want anymore of my life to pass me by but, the horror stories stick with me. My biggest fear is exactly, being able to make a living on the road though. I held a laborer position for the past six years band was injured on the job but, my true passions are creative. I've worked in the music field, I'm a self published author, I'd love to try a lifestyles podcast. The options are endless I guess!
@widdershins26875 жыл бұрын
For every 'horror story' out there, there are thousands, literally thousands, of stories that are exactly the opposite. Go with your strengths, honour your fears, (but don't let 'the little buggers define you) don't rush it, and follow your heart. :)

@Ke Le Thank you for that! It was a nice reminder of why I wanted to start RVing in the first place. I'm going to start out small and not far from home.
