I have never had to wait in any lines to fish the Russian River. Park your vehicle a quarter-mile west, just across the bridge, at the Resurrection Trail parking area - no fee for parking. Then walk or bike to the Russian River campground and up the trail along the Russian River (NOT up the Resurrection Trail!) to find a fishing spot. It’s late June 2023 and the limit was raised to 9 a few days ago.

Wow, I haven't fish the Russian River Kenai River confluence since the mid 80s. It was crowded back then.back in the seventies we take the ferry across and fish right there wasn't so bad or walk up around the corner. I have friends that have property along the Kenai River down on the Kenai keys funny River road so I haven't fished the Kenai confluence of the Russian River since then. I guess I just wasn't into the combat fishing anymore even back in the eighties and was getting bad. Nice video anyways brings back memories.

I miss hitting the Russian. I remember I went back when I was younger and it was a 7 a day limit. We’d catch our limit before 12am and catch it again right after and be set for months off the fish due to having a big family.

That's it. To learn to fish is important especially for a big family to feed. It's not that hard to learn and with action that was seen in this video, it is foolish to not fish. I love it, miss it and may just get back into it. Wonderful video drama!

Hi Curtis, I am not to sure if they are still running. The best thing to do is call some of the locals near Russian river and ask. Etc like calling the local gas stop or hotels nearby, they will know ! & at Walmart any color Russian river fly will work. have fun !

basic rod, good reel that can take 3-4lbs fishing line. I like using 40lbs line for RED salmon. I use split shoot weights and Russian river fly hooks fishing here at the Russian river. All can be obtain from local Walmart
