I used this tonight on my demo account... The EURGBP was ranging and it took me about 7 hours to complete. I went 13 trades deep on this, but I did completely end up winning my last trade for $181. It works. It takes patience and margin if the market is ranging. One thing I didn't do tonight is that I'm going to combine this on the 1 minute time frame by taking trades only with a (14) RSI over 70 and under 30 to try and increase the chances that it doesn't range for very long. I believe this is the long term strategy I've been looking for to make daily profits when combined with RSI.

Hello Traders, I use this exact strategy for over 1 year now and so far so good, but the REC zone of 5 pips is small. I have tested my set up for more than 6 months first in order to make it as safe as possible so I am comfortable with the amount of orders that might be open, I mean MAX orders and to make sure that you have enough funds to cover those. @@felipk3217 Hi, I will decline to tell you my exact specifications, however I will give you some points that are important so by testing with different values you can see different results and different RISK. 1. 20 pips for the zone is very narrow is not enough. 2. It depends on the pair-less volatile pairs needs smaller range but other bigger. 3. I trade on H1, so figure out which time frame you want to use and start testing, because this range is very important for your RISK. 4. Narrow range means more open orders, which means more RISK, more profits. Start with how much funds do you have and work from there. Ask more questions if you'd like. Thanks

Yes, indeed.. this strategy won't last long when market is flat.. it need trend market, so you need another strategy, at least, to avoid the 'sideways' which I can say, almost impossible to avoid them. One long sideways can bring your drawdown in huge risk because it will open more than 7 orders. For example, in 2019.01.11 17 : 05 (check on EURUSD chart), if you follow the rules, you will end up with 7 buy stop and 7 sell stop (total 14 orders) before hit profit on last sell stop which we don't know what is the lot size for the rest of stop order..

i use moving average on only 2 currency pairs and its always ahead. the parameter is set on moving average crosses on only these currencies ( GBPUSD, EURUSD). Remember its a trend strategy and should be used for only trending currencies like ( GBPUSD, EURUSD). A 10 period and 50 period, Exponential Moving Average on your chart. Then, wait until the two EMA’s compress together and begin to fan out. I normally use white color for 10 Ema period and red for 50 Ema period. If the 10 period EMA (white) fans out on top of the 50 period EMA(red), then price is trending up (buy signal). On the other hand, if the 10 period EMA(white) fans out below the 50 period EMA (red), and the 50 EMA (red)is below then price is trending down.(sell signal) Then i add a special Indicator as filter to trade. its helps me filter out ranging markets. with this simple pattern you can make over 120% within 7 months on your trade on each currency pair( GBPUSD, EURUSD) with minimum drawdown. pls don't use it on ranging markets. I have proof of it, i can show backtest. Its best when you turn it to an EA (robot) that way you will never miss any trade.

I think it's the same as either buying or selling and when it goes against you increasing the position until it eventually makes a profit. There's really no point in opening both a buy and a sell, just take a calculated guess which way it's more likely to trend and take a position in that direction. If you buy high and sell low, you can have crazy slow poor execution, and this is key_ catch the market in a seriously small spread phase from a taper, and take more profit of small spread than normal instantaneous scalps. The risk is simple, during entry you must enter in a normal scalp position with a high sale and a low buy, but if during entry you mess up and can't get the next position in in time, you must exist the losing side immediately, and wait to do the losing position until you get a little higher, and you must enter the oposite side either immediately, or not at all, and wait for a new low. This entry execution is paramount or this strategy will eventually lose.

I support your this strategy, but I think it must find the good entry point, to make sure: the price must run one way after some wires (orders). Because if not (in case of sideway period), it will blow your account. Or you can limit orders and then to cut one by one. That is KEY to make this strategy PROFITABLE. However, the main state of forex market is sideway ~70%, trend state is less than 30%, I think DCA is better than hedge. I use combination of hedge and DCA: hedge is when ADX strong, otherwise is DCA. Both DCA and hedge (like your video), they need to follow trend to increase win rate.

I have made its EA. It performed well in backtest but now I am testing it on live demo account. I think it's the same as either buying or selling and when it goes against you increasing the position until it eventually makes a profit. There's really no point in opening both a buy and a sell, just take a guess which way it's more likely to trend and take a position in that direction. You're actually just wasting more on spreads and/or commissions by having both positions at the same time.

Its close to 60 percent winning rate with a 1R vs 2TP. I trade 30 minutes,1h and 4h. I started as scalper but switched very quick in to long term trading. One thing I noticed ever since I started to trade 1h (long term charts) my winning rate increased drastically. On my other broker account I have a 30% winning rate and I am still very profitable due my higher TP rate. With that account I trade more short term and have more trades overall.

Here's a few simple fixes for this: 1. Trading in specific times where volatility is high, say London or NY session on a small enough (or large enough) time frame 2. Once you reach a point where your account is low on spare capital, close a few positions or the entire trade at a loss/profit. Won't be a solid 100% win rate but I'll take a 90 or even 80% win rate any day of the week 3. Use a broker that provides a high leverage, like 500 or 1000x or more. The higher the better. Also, use initial lot sizes that are small enough per your account so that once positions start to grow in size, you can keep up long enough for things to play out in your favor.

Thanks Eric for your feedback. Based on my experience I can tell that most of the trader who blow up their accounts are somehow over leveraging, if a trader applies a reliable strategy and avoid times with strong fundamentals they can increase their chances of success big time. To answer your question, I usually close 90% of the position as soon as I achieve the take profit. But, if the momentum is still strong and the tend didn't get to the range level and the spike is still up I would consider closing 90% of the position and apply a trailing stop loss. I will make a video soon about the best ways to close the successful trade and reduce the loss when it comes to the unsuccessful ones. Well to make it simple "Cash-cow the winners and kill the losers". I hope this answers your question I ll put together a video soon to further address this topic.

@@taylorfielder1008 renko charts because renko candles are only created when the price moves a certain amount of pips, and it is not based on time, so this is used to filter many moments with consolidation, to find volatility easier.. and the indicators are used to find moments with trends, so that the first take profit of the strategy can be hit directly more times, instead of the second, third, ...., take profits.. and the lowest leverage because this is a way to reduce the risk of the "marting gale effect" that this stratety has, because this strategy uses a leverage which is higher and higher, and it begins to be dangerous if many positions are made without hitting the take profits, but if one begins with the lowest leverage, then it will be much more easy to place many positions without a high leverage, because it will be less dangerous.. 0.01, 0.03, 0.06.... but the proportion between the leverages needs to be the same that he showed, and like that the risk will be reduced.. you take into consideration the possibility of having many position, since the first position..

We are discussing this situation in part 2 of this strategy testing series, if you are using a commission based account, the account might be exhausted quite fast due to the accumulation of commission. Thus, the strategy is definitely not successful when the market is consolidating which is why we choose to trade a high volatility pair. When we bought the strategy from the guru, he has mentioned that we should exit all the trades if the market kept consolidating so we can clearly understand that this strategy works best when the market is at a spike or channel and fails when the market is consolidating. I am interested to know the purpose of trading GBP against AUD as the two currencies tend to correlate most of the time, maybe you were leveraging on the hawkish RBA reports that made a spectacular uptrend during the 14th Asian session especially against the NZD, but I would love to know your reasoning behind the choice of pair. On the other hand, GBP pairs were mostly bulleting this week especially from the 11th onwards due to the positive CDP figures and unemployment rates for the month. usually when there are two currencies performing well due to fundamentals, there are bigger chances for a consolidation or channel price movements. I went through the chart and I can see some well-structured trends that have been formed yesterday (14th), but the price was consolidating at the opening of the London session which is the time when you entered the market I believe, that zone looks like a perfect pullback that followed the Asian session spike (15m). I think the strategy would have worked just fine afterwards but based on the entry price you have given me; things must be different if you lock your gains especially when the breakup happened by 11 AM (London time).

i have seen this strategy working on a live account. i saw the results only so i didn't know what was happening plus i am new trader at that time. it was basically an EA, but now i realized how the EA was working. however you need a very big account for this. because it could really really go deep. the account i saw was i think 15k, however i saw at times it was 4 or 5 k in red. after few days i saw the account was at 22k. but it was started with 10k

Back testing this shows that from time to time you can get 20+ reversals when the market is in a tight range and you will wipe your account.

@@HimboJimbo Thanks for the reply. In answer to your points: 1) I back tested both London & NY. It's easy to find long winning streaks, several weeks, but there are enough random long losing streaks to make this not a viable strategy. Using your formula, what is you risk on trade 27 (26 losing trades, you're about to place trade 27)? What is your accumulated losses are that point (as a percentage of the account)? I found this situation when back testing the London session. 2) It's OK saying close some positions, but if this is your only position this is what you get to close and lock in all those losses. Eventually these losses kill your account. 3) Trading higher leverage is the death of most people's accounts. Nice while it lasts, but it always goes wrong eventually. This is why > 90% of retail forex traders lose their accounts.

@@HimboJimbo 30 losses deep with what starting risk level and risk multiplier? In order to cover 30 losses you have to be taking at least 30x the risk on the 31st trade, which means you would already have wiped your account (29th trade needed 29x, 28th trade needed 28x etc - it soon adds up). If you are down only $200 after 30 consecutive losses using a multiplied risk factor then what was your expected profit on trade 1? Perhaps there were some typos in your answer because the numbers just don't add up.

​@@HimboJimbo Thanks for the reply. Help me out here. Increase by +20% (instead of 78%) of what exactly? The risk per trade, or the cumulative losses so far? If you are multiplying the risk by 20% then you'd have to be starting with a risk of only 0.0004% ($0.20!) in order to lose only $236.37 on a $50K account after 30 consecutive losing trades. If you start with a first order of 0.1% then you would have wiped the account (and more). It's easy to not lose much money by only risking $0.20 on a first trade, $0.24 on the second, and so on but that's not a realistic investment opportunity on a real $50K account. So, in order to make it realistic you'd actually be relying on multiple consecutive losses to build any sort of profit at all, and even then, once you deduct your losses, it's very minimum stuff. You'd need 9 losing trades followed by a winning trade just to make a net profit of $1 on a $50K account. Do that every day for a year which at (say) 220 trading days a year would still only give you $220, or 0.44% of a $50K account. Since most trades turn a profit with fewer than 9 losing trades the profits are actually even lower. You'd be better putting it in the stock market. Where did I go wrong? What are you actually risking (% & $) for each of trade 1, 10, 20 & 30? We can interpolate from there. Also, is the 5 pips risk really 5 pips + spread? If so the 15 pips profit is no longer 3x. If it's 5 pips including spread then losses will happen much more easily, especially on the pairs you've mentioned before because the spread reduces the risk margin down to < 3 pips. It it's the 15 pips that needs to include the spread then again, it's not really 3x. The other alternative is you'd be have to be dealing with a broker that has "no spreads" at all, but you'd then need to deduct the commission for each side of the trade plus any other trading account fees they charge. Most brokers have a minimum commission (say $0.01) per side, so the $0.20 initial risk is actually $0.22 and so on. Just wondering since this is interesting stuff :)

This is a very simplified yet maybe a little profit but consistently very good at all and that in the end... still few losses my occur as long as discipline of strategy must be applied as always every trade. It is extremely unlikely that it will stay in a tight range indefinitely... Eventually it will hit one of the take profits. To reduce the risk of a tight range, choose a volatile pair and trade when there is most volatility in the market.

First I wanna say thanks for the content, I find very insightful and well made. With that being said I think there isn't a 100% strategy simply because the market is constantly changing, in other words, it goes from high volatility to low volatility and from ranges to trends. The concept is sound though and that's why the guru will make more money selling the strategy rather than using the strategy himself to generate profits.

One of my oldest used strategy. I have the EA for it also and have some advanced features in it as well. But this strategy will blow your account during ranging market. You need a trending market only to get out of your trades.
