There's something special about your personality. It happened a couple of times already that I couldn't get out of bed in the morning because I felt, well, low and your vlogs were the only thing that managed to cheer me up by reminding me what makes this "life" thing beautiful - staying curious, learning, travelling. Great editing, excellent camera work, but it's your humour, drive and curious mind that make this channel one of the best thing on the Internet. Thank you! On a lighter note... those penguins in the video were so damn cute! :P

Ahh, how much fun! :) I've watched several tours of the Cal Academy - loving all the Biology especially. I visited San Francisco whilst on a conference in January, but sadly only went in the evening so missed out in visiting Exploratium, Academy of Sciences and all other exciting San Franciscan activities. Next time I visit San Francisco, I'll be giving it proper justice! :D

Ah, Home. I do so miss my home metropolitan. I see you had a lovely time there at the museum, and the touching the Pacific Ocean. +SimonOxfPhys, Question: How did you edit the colouring for the aquarium bits in your video? Or did you apply the same editing on the video as a whole? I watched KZbin tutorials on how to edit aquarium photos and I advice was helpful in bring out what was hidden, lost, or what otherwise been washed out in the raw cut. In you video, Simon, the aquarium video clips are stunning and consistent throughout and in each scene.
@SimonClark8 жыл бұрын
+Sheldon Hi! So I actually didn't do anything special for the aquarium shots - I applied a general colour curve to all the footage to bump up the contrast but that was it. For videos of this length I just can't be bothered to do it shot by shot haha! The G7X is just a very good camera is seems

Your vlogs and generally everything I have watched radiated such great energy. I'm new to your channel but I would love to know if you are someone who doesn't focus on the bigger picture but takes each day at a time to make the most of life. If you focus on the bigger picture, could you share it? What state of mind or philosophy keeps you going as a person? It's a bundle of questions but I'm really interested in your reply if you understand what depth those questions carry.

Hi! I looove your videos so much! I was wondering if you would do a Q&A soon. My question is, what grades are required if you do 4 A levels? And, is there any inconvenience in taking your mother language as an A Level (spanish) Thanks and hope you had an awesome time!
@SimonClark8 жыл бұрын
+Paula Santiago if you're applying to Oxbridge? They will require between A*A*A and AAA, but will only ask for three grades - never all four
@rastislav488 жыл бұрын
See if I apply to Oxford can I apply for more than one course or does it have to be specifically just one?
@SimonClark8 жыл бұрын
+rastislav ferenc I think you can but I wouldn't recommend it - as the uni will see that you've applied for multiple courses there, potentially showing that you're not totally dedicated to one subject (which they are looking for)

Hey I'm a gcse student and needed to ask this to someone clever. I know you don't study chemistry but i though you may be able to tell me how wrong i am. I was thinking about whether it is possible to make alkanes from yeast. Yeast can be used to make ethanol. Ethanol can be dehydrated to produce ethene. Then you can use the process of hydrogenation to turn ethene into ethane. Once you have ethane you could use polymerisation to produce other alkanes. Please note my understanding of chemistry is only to GCSE level so yh i may be completely wrong. Thanks. Btw great vlog

Hello +SimonOxfPhys I am in year 7 and have already started revising for GCSE's, Have I started revising to early or not?? I know there's no such thing as 'Early' but should I stop and relax and stop till year 9 and start revising again or no? i currently have straight D's and in year 7 and still going up a grade every year and still technically have 4 years as its end of year, I am praying to get into college and get in A level AA A* in Physics, English and Maths, and then hoping to get into Cambridge and do law to eventually get onto being a lawyer, maybe oxford I don't know i'll decide at the time. Your sincerely, Matthew...
@SimonClark8 жыл бұрын
+matthew cairns Yes year 7 is definitely too early to start revising for your GCSEs! Concentrate on the material that you're doing in your school year, then start thinking about your GCSEs in year 10
