Every so often I get this craving for Malvani Food. And every so often I go out looking for restaurants that serve great Malvani Cuisine.
This time I am in Virar in a friend's restaurant called Malvan Cho Kalvan. 2 years ago we ate at Chef Pankaj's Nano Food Shack and now I found out that he has yummy Malvani Restaurant 200 meters outside of Virar Station.
So here I am in Virar eating the lip smacking Malvani meal.

I visited this hotel after this episode and God damm it was worth the drive of 70 Kms! The fish was super fresh and the prices were extremely nominal. A surmai thali and a veg thali for my mom costed us Rs 450!!!! In Mulund, 2 sandwiches from roadside stall costs Rs 200 now!!

What a tasty take on seafood! We typically see clams/ lobster / mussels and crab being used in some type of soup ( bouillabaisse/ gumbo Or Caldeirada de peixe) but to cook it in robust curries and sauces that are tasty yet spicy is something new . Amazing . Love your coverage and narrative , keep on eating and sharing!
