Just an FYI to EVERYONE! It's not recording at 100 megabytes a second or 60 megabytes a second. It's actually megabits. So you don't need to spend almost $100 on an SDCard. SD cards are labeled in mb/s (megabytes) while the videos are in mbps (megabits).

Hey Sidney, I figured out the custom #2 shutter speed 1/125 issue. My other question is, I just got the SanDisk 64gb performance 170 MB/s read and 90 MB/s writing. You said only select the 100 MB if your SD card can handle it. The next step up in SanDisk for higher write speeds above 100 MB/s is UHS-class 2, but apparently the a6500 can only handle UHS class-1. Can I use the 4K 24p 100MB setting with this SD card or do I need a UHS 2? Thanks

I'm not sure I understand Slow Motion settings. Does it FILM in slo-mo? Or does it film at normal speed and make your footage smooth and high quality when you slow it down in editing?
@SidneyDiongzon5 жыл бұрын
There are 2 types of slow motion on the a6500: (1) S&Q and (2) Normal Slow Motion. The S&Q automatically slows down footage where you can play it back in slow motion. For normal slow motion, you have to interpret the footage in post. Otherwise, it will look like normal looking footage on your timeline. Hope that makes sense?

in your first memory setting the video mode was in P mode not manual for memory 1. and you had two p* showing up for your wheel adjustments. wondering if it was meant to be in manual mode? it was at 8:49 into the video.

Thanks for sharing this video. It is very useful to those beginners like me. So you are not filming with S-Log, you do not have to set the exposure to be +2.0 for post production or you do?
@SidneyDiongzon7 жыл бұрын
+Yusuke OYAMA No, I usually film in Cine4 and keep my exposure between +.03 and +.07

I have my camera on Manual and Raw, but I can't get the clear image to work. It states that, I can't do this setting in this state. Do you have any idea, what I need to do? Thank You
@SidneyDiongzon6 жыл бұрын
It actually depends on the lens

Thank you I figured it out,. In order to have the zoom I can't shoot in Raw, it has to be in jpeg.

Awesome job! What SD card to you recommend for the settings you have?

I followed you step by step but always end up with 1/120 instead of 1/50. Is this because of the different lens I’m using? I’m currently using a 18-135mm.

Lens has nothing to do with it. Are you in Manual in the Movie mode?

Have an A6500, can't get it to stop automatically adjusting brightness unless I'm in manual mode. I want brightness to stay the way I want it in movie mode and in preset modes. How do I manage this?

Thank you so much! :) I just got the a6500 and this is very helpful :)

Thanks for helping me out! But when i turn it in to recall mode 1 or 2 it shows the settings first u know how i can turn this off?
@SidneyDiongzon7 жыл бұрын
There's no way around that unfortunately. It's no big deal. Just press the menu button or shutter to quickly get out of it. Hopefully they'll be a firmware update to fix it!

Sidney, this video is AMAZING!!! Just one questions, on Exposure Comp my settings are grayed out... Is this because I am using the Sony 10-18mm lens?
@SidneyDiongzon7 жыл бұрын
+Chris Jew Thanks! It’s definitely not the lens. I wonder if it’s the mode you’re in?
@chrisdjew7 жыл бұрын
Ah, yes! I was in the Auto on the Mode Dial and not Movie (S&Q) mode. Thanks for replying! Keep up the great vids.

I'm wondering if this is worth it for indie filmmaking on a budget. The menus seem pretty complicated, but this makes them seem simpler than the reviewers say.
@SidneyDiongzon7 жыл бұрын
The menu does have a learning curve, but it’s easy once you get to know it. For indie films, it could def work! But the a7sII might be a better option for you for that line of work!

Sidney Diongzon Great! I wish I could get the A7sii, but I have a budget of $1800
