Other differences for the a6500 include a bigger grip, extra custom button, improved shutter life, new menu system, Slow & Quick mode, and a way better buffer.

It wasn't a factor in my purchasing decision, but I've come to love the fast buffer for run and gun photography. Can shoot many frames before that buffer fills up

Just an FYI to EVERYONE! It's not recording at 100 megabytes a second or 60 megabytes a second. It's actually megabits. So you don't need to spend almost $100 on an SDCard. SD cards are labeled in mb/s (megabytes) while the videos are in mbps (megabits).

Great info. I'm in between GH5 and A6500. I use Canon for photography and want to get and learn filming for travel and vacation. I like AF on A6500, but more button for CF on GH5. I'd probably lean to A6500 due to AF as I mostly use it on Zhiyun Crane gimbal. Question - Do you use Face tracking when using the gimbal? I just don't like to idea of AF automatically choose the subject to focus for me. Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand Slow Motion settings. Does it FILM in slo-mo? Or does it film at normal speed and make your footage smooth and high quality when you slow it down in editing?
@SidneyDiongzon
@SidneyDiongzon 5 жыл бұрын
There are 2 types of slow motion on the a6500: (1) S&Q and (2) Normal Slow Motion. The S&Q automatically slows down footage where you can play it back in slow motion. For normal slow motion, you have to interpret the footage in post. Otherwise, it will look like normal looking footage on your timeline. Hope that makes sense?

@@SidneyDiongzon That helps significantly! So when I'm shooting an event that I plan to make into a promo (where I speed up and slow down shots) it will look buttery smooth.

Hi Sidney. This tutorial is helpful thank you. On your review screen for 4K setting #1, you still have it in "P" ? (10:55) Should it be "M"?

in your first memory setting the video mode was in P mode not manual for memory 1. and you had two p* showing up for your wheel adjustments. wondering if it was meant to be in manual mode? it was at 8:49 into the video.

Thanks for the tips! I'm having trouble saving my picture profile settings to my camera. Do you know why? Even after clicking on the memory card buttons. I'll switch back and forth to and my picture profile settings will not be there.

Hi Sidney, I absolutely love your work. You are super talented. Do u have any tips for me how to shoot videos here in super sunny Miami? I have the same gear a6500 10-18, 18-105. When I set my camera for Slog3 it’s always overexposed, shall I use cini4 or slog2? Maybe to change aperture or f.? Please help :) thank u!

+Sergio Gak Thanks for the comment man! If you're gonna shoot s-log3, try shooting at ISO 800 and use variable ND filter to stop down the exposure. Shooting s-log3 is hard if you don't have a monitor like a Shogun, and that's why I like shooting Cine4 and exposing it right on the viewfinder, not the monitor. Also look at your exposure levels on the bottom of the screen. I make sure to never go above +.7. Hope this helps!

Hey sidney, great tutorial bro. I had a question with setting the 2 to slow mo. I set the settings to everything you did but the playback does not appear to be in slow mo. Would you know how to fix this??
@SidneyDiongzon
@SidneyDiongzon 7 жыл бұрын
+T_kim_TV You won't see the playback in slow motion in camera. You have to take the footage into an editor like Premiere Pro, and modify the 120fps to 24fps. Or in Final Cut Pro, slow it down to 25%. Hope this helps!

I followed you step by step but always end up with 1/120 instead of 1/50. Is this because of the different lens I’m using? I’m currently using a 18-135mm.
