Ok…I’m in my 60s and learned to sew on a Singer 401A. I’ve been fashion sewing for over 50 years. I started quilting as well 12 years ago. I still use that Singer. I have purchased other more expensive machines but always go back to my Singer. I now only have that Singer and a Serger. Specialty machines are not necessary.

I totally enjoyed the review. I currently sew on a Bernina and love it. I purchased a new table, plastic, not a good idea because while embroidering too much vibration. Have you done reviews on the type of sewing table to purchase ?

My sewing table is a dining table that I bought from Walmart. Better Home And garden. I drilled a hole in the top to drop my cords for machines and lights. It fits a mini fridge perfectly up underneath. Be careful drilling that hole, as to it Is solid oak. Lot of kickback on the drill, but worth it. My power strip sits on top of the fridge. Two tier cabinets fit under this too.

Thanks for the demos. The polyester sewing test was a bit misleading though as you seemed to lengthen the stitch length on two of the machines but not the Janome?

Curious if the fabric advisor program recommends same stitch settings for stitch length, width, tension, etc, between each model. Thus sill results of sewing polyester come out different and flat fabric not puckered.

I enjoy your reviews. Have you ever done reviews on best table for sewing machines with embroidery. I purchased a sewing table at Hobby Lobby. I thought I made a good decision, but when embroidering the table vibrates terribly.

Anna is fabulous, but Christ Alive someone have a serious word with the digital team, who for some unknown reason decided she needed underscoring with plinky-plonky music during _every single second of this twenty-five minute video._ To do this shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how brains process new information. Viewers take in far less information about the machines as their brains fight to concentrate on what Anna's saying and separate it from the incessant music. Upshot: you'll sell fewer machines. Anna's style is _already_ engaging, so why use music *at all?* It suggests without it she isn't enough. Here's some free 'cognition consulting': Next time you're watching a TV drama, notice _when and how_ the sound designer employs music: scene transitions, moments of tension & relief, and emotional swell points - or if you're an 80s movie director, then in the compulsory mid-film "we're working on this thang" montage break. Like the graphic design mantra - the most important visual thing in design is white space for our *eyes to rest.* Our brains and ears need the same _aural_ white space - there is literally none here! _[Source: I'm a Clin. Psych. - I know brains 😬]_
