Someone just put the Lexus badge on there because they liked it more I suppose. Everyone wants what they cant have lol but the rule of thumb is LHD = Lexus SC300/400, RHD = Toyota Soarer. They were just made for different markets. Lexus at the time meant (L)uxury (Ex)port to (U)nited (S)tates. Thats one of the reasons Lexus only came with leather interior but you could get a Soarer with cloth seats.

After watching the more recent UZZ31 review, this popped up in my feed today - this is exactly what I was talking about in my comment on that video - most of these cars have been through bad times like this one where it's been badly modified buy a young guy with questionable taste and limited resources in a way that doesn't suit it at all, and not finished properly - so you end up with this awful Frankenstein of a car that looks bad and that isn't any good at anything and is just irritating to drive. I well remember going through this phase myself in my late teens/early 20's - for some reason I thought owning a car that scraped and banged on everything and rode like a brick and make horrific noises, was safety compromised due to me spending money on stupid stuff instead of needed maintenance, and was an actual workout to drive was cool.
@bunkaaa87262 жыл бұрын
How did you get any indication that it 'drove bad' from the video other then it scraping once?

@@Beer_Dad1975 He didn't say that at all in this video, in fact he told me he quite enjoyed how it drove
@Beer_Dad19752 жыл бұрын
@@bunkaaa8726 I don't doubt that Jay enjoyed his drive - just this car is a basket case of unfinished or inappropriate modifications for what is supposed to be a luxury GT - subjectively you understand - if you love it, then I'm just that asshole on the internet, and that's fine. Some examples of what I think are poor modifications - @3:10 noise complaints @4:00 clutch is bad, @4:40 fake lexus badging @6:44 warning messages from poor quality modifications @7:20 terrible racing after market seats in a street car, @8:18, exhaust contacting chassis, 11:20 larger brakes added without uprating master cylinder leading to poor brake feel. Again, I'm sorry to be an asshole, just I've been there and done that as an old fucker who used to "sack em on their nuts" and think that was cool. IMO, as someone who has in the distant past owned a UZZ30, an JZZ30 and a JZZ31, a Soarer, be it a JZZ30, JZZ31, UZZ30, UZZ31 or UZZ32, should be a grand tourer, and not try to be some kind of hybrid street racer.
@bunkaaa87262 жыл бұрын
@@Beer_Dad1975 Ok, is every car supposed to be perfect? These cars are popular because they respond so well to modification. They work great as ; Tourers, Drag cars, Track cars, Street cars etc etc etc. The platform albeit heavy works well at any with a few subtle mods. We spoke at length after the shoot how much he enjoyed driving it, and how surprised he was at how little I'd NEEDED to do to make it drive well. Compare that to the other v8 soarer vid he complained how badly it drove in stock form. In fact literally every person who has driven this car has been grinning from ear to ear. This is a classic case of 'Someone on the internet thinks they know something for a fact over the reality of the situation'. I bought this car purely to get a fast powerful car I can tune to my liking, and this is exactly what I've done. This video was shot after my first few basic mods, and is now running 400hp on hybrid twins(plus supporting mods), even bigger brakes (which work perfectly by the way), quiet diff mounts, even better suspension and tune and lightweight wheels. I bought it to tweak and tune, and now is in its best form. To you, yeah its ruined 'because iz not a tourer' but in reality, everyone in real life who has come in to contact with it loves it.
