@@airstrike9002 I prefer an overpowered (albeit expensive) army of Fian snipers, Horse Cavalry, and Heavy Cavalry. Occasionally, lose a few cavalry units to heavily tree'd maps or bad luck, but easily wipe out armies with twice as many units. Often that can be done without losing a single troop. Horse Cav harries the enemy troops and begins the circle of doom, while the fians become a right anvil for the enemy to smack into. Heavy cav protects the flanks and then breaks up the lines for even more fian doom. If the enemy charges straight in with enough troops, the fians skirmish and the front row lays some two handed hate down while backing up.

@@myhorseisamazing5883 the snipers make horse archers even more powerful as the enemy army is broken up quicker because the can't shield in all directions. They are also easier to get than the khuzait khan's guards while in the middle of the map. Snipers are my anvil and horse archers are my hammer. The heavy cav just sweeps in to break everything up and/or attack their archers.

Hope you guys found this video helpful! Also RIP Archers in this tactic, if you want to keep them alive send them as far into your city/castle as possible. For me they glitch out and I can't move them. (This tactic is designed for players who have high infantry/cavalry composition armies)

qwerty qwerty archers never listen to commands for me in sieges but yes it does work for lower floors just don’t use the first floor. You can’t have soldiers or yourself reach around the railing and hit them. So 2nd floor, 3rd, or top. I used the top because you can see them clearly and it’s cinematic

If you think castles provide little advantage you are a moron. My entire strategy playing this game.is to bait enemy nations into seiges, wait for them to start taking casualities in the seige (they cant break off then) break into the seige with my 300 dudes, and slaughter 1400 guys with them. I can consistently do this on goddamn autoresolve and I'll usually have 2 seiges going and run right to the next. I'm literally fighting 300 vs 1000-1200 every couple days from my walls.

I wish they add a mechanics or features. Where if enemies reach at certain checkpoints, that town/castle will have some damage. Like lower hapiness or some buildings destroyed. So defenders have more pressured. And if defenders wins while losing so much casualties and checkpoints, against almost same size unit, town/castle and party will have small penalties. It's like punishing generals who are bad commanding his own men. And if defenders win against large size enemies, we will get small rewards or bonuses. I mean realistically, it should be done like this. Besides decision in main campaign map can affects stuff, in battle as well need to implement it too. Like normal RPG, every actions have affects and effects.

I just wanna say that this is an amazing strategy I was defending with only 200 people angainst 1000 western empire trash and I had almost over 400 kills alone sadly I took an arrow when we charged the archers at the end and the game wouldn’t push my troops forward so the game got soft locked I waited 2 hours for it to work itself out and nothing

Ahhhhhh choke points. I remember playing warband where I took Praven with the Nord army. Dumb Harlus gave it to himself, it was taken back by swadia almost instantly from when I say my opportunity to take it back for myself this time. I had to fend off 3 different kingdoms with armies around 400-500 people with my 50 men. Choke points really helped me when we all just stood at the top of a stair mowing down the nerds. Good times, goooood times...

If the enemy dont have a siege tower u can hold off one side of a castle/town on the ladder with a small squad of archers, put the rest of ur army on the otherside, works everytime for me (thats is the best way to lvl one handed/two handed)

The AI is fine, it's really exploiting the fact that the AI's goal is eliminating all the defenders when it should be taking control of the fief. If this happened IRL, the besieging army would just set that one tower on fire or happily settle in to the castle itself - which is totally undefended - and starve out the defenders.

The stairs in that tower are designed badly. All stairs are designed clockwise (you turn right if you go up). It has come from medieval ages, in case you DEFFEND THE TOWER, because most men are right handed. So it is easier to defend the tower, beacause you have more range than attacker, and it is more difficult to capture that tower for the same reason - it is hard to attack from backhand. But nice video btw.

@@ImJBTPG not really. We are used to see towers like this in most of games, with very much space inside (almost empty) and very wide stairway. In reality towers like that were very big, but had very thick walls, and the walls were either on right and left side of stairs. And the stairs were not wide. You can imagine that inside of it, on the stairway, was enough room only for one, perhaps two men. It is like spiral staircase about 1 m wide. In this circumstances it is very difficult to attack if it's clockwise, especially with defender's advantage of height.

Yes, it is possible for the towers to be destroyed, but the enemy has to have catapults or trebuchets to do so and it takes a lot of hits. Most of the time they do not build them. If they do, I would take my bow and kill 1 guy from the enemy siege engine group to stop them from firing.

The reason why arrows goes through the ceiling is the same reason why you can glitch out of bounds on map and then get into 3d space of objects then exit the other side... There is no textures under the floors/ceilings which means it's a 1 sided surface with a single texture that is being shown front and back, which ended up allowing arrows to pass through. If you mod the game to enable 'super jumps' you can probably jump through all of them.

@@leonardomarquesbellini the amount of care you have to put into when to start your kingdom is still tremendous, I specifically picked a town that got conquered far away from the invading factions main settlements and was able to ally with the faction they took it from so instead of being surrounden by enemies I mostly had friendly lords around at the start it's still kind of mandatory to exterminate enemy lords at this point because diplomacy is whack

But that was the whole point of castles in real life. To create chokepoints and hold off the enemy for as long as possible. The reason Taleworlds added multiple ladders was to prevent glitching, because previously every single unit would go up a single ladder and you could easily be pushed off of it by hundreds of soldiers squeezing in there

Only one I had was when my town was about to be taken over and I sacrificed 100 men to break in my army of 400 to make it a 600 enemy vs 500 defenders fight and it went well. I think the surgent made it so only 20 died and 80 were injured though. So well worth it.

Am I the only one this doesn’t work for? Every time I try, I press “ready” to start the siege but then my troops just run off to go defend the walls and ignore my commands. Even when I command them to stop, they still run off and do what they want

It does that for everyone, you have to place your men after you start the siege. Then place them in shield wall. They still will always run to siege defense engines if available so you can either not use them or sacrifice a few people

We use this exact tactic in gloria victus. I've murdered a lot of people with a two handed over some rails haha
