If you are an epoxy resin artist or woodworker that makes resin and wood serving boards, charcuterie boards or river tables you NEED to watch this video. Discover how our line of silicone maker molds and LDPE / HDPE no-seal, no-leak molds will save you time, money and streamline your production process.
These are the last epoxy resin charcuterie board molds and small table top molds you will ever need. Created just for makers, resin artists and wood workers, these time saving molds significantly cut down on the setup and demolding time usually involved with other board and table molds. Our forms are superior to wood and tuck tape, and multi-piece HDPE molds because:
-They never need assembled, or disassembled. Saving huge amounts of time.
-The strength and flexibility of the molds allows you to insert and remove pieces of wood easily.
-The corners and edges never need sealed.
-The molds are reusable over and over again.
-We recommend a mold release spray to be used with our silicone molds in order to extend the life of the mold and to prevent mold tearout (though this is rare). Mold release is not required for our formed PE molds but will make demolding that much easier if you do use it before your pour.
We have a wide array of HDPE / LDPE and silicone mold shapes and sizes available, simply visit our website to grab one for yourself and discover why hundreds of other makers choose to use Crafted Elements reusable silicone and formed polyethylene molds in their resin art or woodworking business.

How do I figure out how much epoxy to use? Example coasters?
@CraftedElements
@CraftedElements 2 жыл бұрын
You need to determine the volume of the mold first (or.. if you have wood in it, what the volume left/open space is) To do this you multiply the LxWxH in inches. The you end up with cubic inches. Then to convert to cubic inches to fluid oz, multiply by 0.554 That’s the total amount of resin If you are using a 3 to 1 epoxy, that’s 4 parts total. So take the total fluid oz, divide by 4. That’s how much of the 1 part ratio you need. Then multiply by 3, that’s how much of the 3 part you need.

There are many mold release sprays on the market. However, the one that we, and our customers, have had the most success with is the MG Chemicals 8329 Non-Silicone Epoxy Mold Release Spray. It is readily available on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca Smooth On also makes a quality line of mold release sprays that can be purchased from them directly, or via Amazon, including the "Smooth On Universal Mold Release" and "Smooth On Ease Release™ 200".

We are working on a 36x18, there will also be larger round ones coming out. However, we wont do any molds past 48" as they are just too costly to make, not economical to ship, etc. The tooling costs would be $$$ as well. The big format molds are best made with HDPE, one off/custom.

I might have missed it in the video and I couldn’t find it on the website, about how many uses would a silicone mold get (roughly since people are people and can destroy anything at anytime)
@CraftedElements

If a mold release is used (we insist on this), then you can get 20-30 pours from a silicone mold when using epoxy resin, many more when using a urethane resin.
