Thanks for another great review. I used your code and ordered the normcore tubes. They were expensive for plastic but now I can make my coffee so much faster, weighing the beans each time took so much time! Really helpful when I’m working and I only have 5 minutes before my next call to my espresso fix 😂 actually love them!

They are nice, but super expensive. Alternate option is to buy 50ml lab tubes. You can buy a carton on 500 tubes for around 120-150AUD. I highly rate them. If it is good enough for scientists to use for cryo, then it's good enough for me.

Hi there, fir freezing scenarios, we couldn't agree more. Also, some people don't care about the look that much. The idea of those tubes is that to have something elegant to fit the style of your elegant coffee set-up 🤍☕️
@ericpeterson13838 ай бұрын
I ordered the Normcore coffee vaults based on your video. They just showed up. None of the caps have a working valve, no air flows in either direction through the cap value regardless of high or low pressure. It would be really nice if you tested the valves and confirmed which coffee vault valves worked as advertised, and which ones did not. I definitely feel like I overpaid for 12 plastic tubes without working valves.
@ourcoffeeshelter8 ай бұрын
Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. First of all, we would like to briefly mention the idea behind the one way valve in these tubes. Generally speaking, if the coffee is extremly fresh and you place the beans inside the tube and there is no way air can exist, either the tube will break or the sealing in the cap will break. Basically, the valve is a saftey measure. In a matter of fact, many coffee rosters don't have one way valve in their 250g coffee bags as keep those gases longer will improve the freshness of the coffee, at least in that small space of a 250g bag until it gets consumed. Of course coffee be degased in the roastery for a few days prior to packing them. The one way valve in the Normcore cap is a pin point and we doubt you will be able to feel air release by manual blowing in it. The main idea of having single dose tubes as mentioned in the beginning of the video is to elevate the practicality of your daily routine and have your pre-dosed espresso shot ready. Hope this was helpful. Have a lovely weekend! 🤍☕️

I have weber glass tubes since approx. August 2022 (I had them as part of their campaign for Weber Key), and I'm no longer using them... Only some of the tubes were greased correctly, so they were very hard to open, and about 6 or 7 have cracked since I got them (and I haven't dropped any of them!).

Does it not matter that these containers don’t vacuum out the air? Larger storage options like the Fellow Atmos suggest it is important to vacuum out the air for storage. I think I want individual cellars with valves and vacuums… Does such a product exist, and would the vacuums be necessary if I’m storing these in a freezer? Thanks.

Hi there, in the Freezer not that much, but you must to consume the coffee instantly once you get it our from there. The idea behind these is to save time while making sure the coffee is not degrading in the week you are going to consume it.

Disappointing that most of these are clear when trying to minimize exposure to light. Any suggestions for cheaper (not coffee specific) options that are a non-transparent metal, glass, or plastic?

You can always consider Labgrade plastic tubes. Many coffee friends use them, but we are not sure where to find. You can search one this form, many people will be happy to recommend: www.home-barista.com/ That being said, none will be as beautiful as those ones we reviewed. Tinted Normcore are really cool and are very durable 🤍☕️

I made a set of my own with small 50-60ml glass containers from a arts & crafts store. They don't have de-gassing valves, but I make sure to place coffee in there only after they've fully de-gasses after a roast. I'd love to upgrade to a set like the tinted Normcore in the future though.

They are all made from foodgrade safe plastic, apart from the weber glass ones. We wouldn't advise placing the glass ones from Weber in the freezer in the first place, tou would definitely want to get the Weber Polymer ones for that purpose and the bulk order of them will make more sense. Alternatively, you can use laboratory plastic tubes, the ones with a cap. So many coffee friends use them for the freezer and they make more sense. Much cheaper and will get the job done 🤍☕️
