This was perfect for the Coleman, Costco has them on sale near me at $129. I was worried about that low eave on it and your solution is good way to resolve it for trucks. I am not an expert but your 10x10 is based upon the legs not the canopy. Slant leg tents do this on most brands and straight leg models have a full 10x10 canopy. I purchased a commercial 10x15 unit and is great except for weight and really needs two to setup. It was my mistake and I am wanting a lighter unit so thanks for making this video, it helps

Your head almost touches the roof of the tent, in my case enough room since I am short🤣🤣 You are lucky that your area doesn't seem to be windy, here we have to anchor it or have weight with blocks on the base. Thanks to the lady of the beautiful voice 👌👍

This canopy raises up two more levels to make it taller. I hope this helps I'm guessing you didn't know from hitting your forehead on it. It has three different height levels if you go past the first one there are two more you have to push in the red button in the middle of the pole that lets the legs out and it'll go up two more clicks whichever amount of clicks you need

Yes I eventually figured it out. The tallest level avoids that issue and does fit most trucks under it after I lift it over the roof.

I use a 10x15 canopy tent i bought from Amazon. I would have gone with the 10×20 , but it has 6 legs-- and would be in the way when you open vehicle doors. My tent is MUCH taller than both of the tents you featured. I also plan to install side curtain tarps for overnight product curing. My tent is metal frame, with extendable legs, and 35 lb sand bags to hold down the legs in heavy wind. I do not have a garage or carport.

Good video, glad your canopy is working for you. I purchased the Coleman 13x13, but it was next to impossible to get the first leg locked, even with multiple adults pulling and tugging. Maybe I just got a bad one, I'm returning it.

I have the coleman, I am 6' tall as well, and I kept hitting my head. Then I realized the legs can extend even more up. Just press the red button and pull up. There are 2 extra spots to increase its highest. You're welcome!

I am far from a geologist, heck, physics kicked my butt. However, aren't there a lot more variables of how much shade, and coverage you get? Like the position of the sun, or the difference in height between the two? I am hoping we have smarter people than I to give some help, They have different surface areas, which should (with the sun directly over the middle of the tent) cause for 144' more shade. There is to be a lot said for seeing them in action. I appreciate seeing that Audi under it for context. Thanks for answering some questions, and hopefully starting a further one, so we can find canopies that works for everyone. I am definitely in the market. It sounds like you like the sturdiness of the straight leg, and the extra coverage for the doors, which I find important.

I'm so sorry you have been struggling with cinder blocks I didn't look to see if it's in the directions but these canopies do have three different height levels we did not figure it out ourself until we had a taller guy at the campsite we were at and my brother-in-law went to lift it up and we found two more clicks and two more different levels

If you can’t carry cinder blocks just get empty 5 gallon buckets 4 of them fill them with water and use bungee cords to hold it down.

Could locking wheel casters help with height and mobility of the canopy? It would just be a simple slip on and off with the holes already at the bottom of the legs. Could even add as a weight. Or perhaps furniture risers? You could drill a hole in the riser with a long screw so it can fit through both the cannopy leg and riser while giving it support from falling over

The 10x10 is only an 8x8 canopy though. So your 8x8 canopy should only provide about 38% of shade compared to the 13x13. About 60% for a true 10x10.

Only thing bout that tent you have there is it's not water proof I had 3 like that and light rain would come right threw that's the only downside of them kind

Can be. I use blocks to hold it down but on really windy days i can’t set it up because a time or two it has wanted to blow over. Fortunately it hasn’t but it’s come scarily close so something to consider
