iwatch is overkill for kids. Best one I would recommend would be versa 2 for affordability and functionality without things like games if your kids are apt to get distracted by that kind of stuff. It does need a cellphone to offer GPS tracking. The Versa 3 is the newer version and has a GPS tracking option on it if that's something you want as a feature without having to get a smartphone plus it has a speaker built in BUT you can't load music directly on to it as of right now like how you could with the versa 2. You're required to have a subscription to one of the premium services which is totally ridiculous and was the ultimate reason we got versa 2s for the kids. Also if you're in Canada, the xplora basically does not work up here even though they say it works with our carriers. We got one of these and it would not work ever which was a shame because it had some of the best options for communicating with your kids without needing to give them a smartphone. Calls and texts wouldn't get through making it basically worse than much cheaper options.

I need a smartwatch that have the best tracker because I have a 4 year old that love to run away from home and it happened 3 times already. double triple and chain door locks does not work on him, he always try to find a way to go outside but we live in an apartment..after I added complicated lock on our patio, chain lock on our doors and found a way how to open the window😐 and then climb our patio like arghh... my son is a natural adventurous kid so it's not like he is always here inside.. I bring him to park, he have a daily bike schedule and he play outside when his brother arrive from school and then i always bring him for a walk anywhere.. still, he is an outdoor kid so please recommend a good gps tracker watch that works with or without mobile phone. thank you

Hello, Wondering since you’ve reviewed so many watches if you could help me find a smart watch for my 11 year old son. He needs reminders during the day at school (at least 2-3) and a count down timer to help his stay on task. The watch should also have a silent vibration to not disturb other students. Basically I need the Clock App on his iPad as a watch. I’ve looked into the WatchMinder3, WobL and Timetimer watch. But there are mixed reviews about quality, durability and ease of use. Other kid watches have additional features that could be distracting for him. Also, I would like to spend under $70. Thanks

For an 11 year old you may not find a watch under 70 bucks if you don’t mind spending a little more i will recommend the apple watch 3 but if you a better and faster apple watch go for the SE but i recommend the Apple Watch 3

Since I upgraded to a Galaxy watch I gave my son my Fitbit Versa 2 and he loves it but he will soon be going to middle school and I could like a way to track him. Great detailed video, thanks! However most of these things are bulky items that kids do not need. Do small kids really do sports activities that should be tracked or do they really use primitive game-like activities that these watches can offer? Looks like a toy for one hour.

Which basically means - toys for younger age kids. Then I bought him Fitbit Charge - small, looks good, elegant and most important - does its work without Looney Tunes or Unicorns.

They work great for elderly in cognitive decline too! Get a waterproof one that doesn’t look kid-like (Xplora X5 play watch works great in Canada). This was the most useful tool in the early stages for us- especially since my elderly parent loved to walk and continued to walk and wander in the early stages. I could see the historical data of gps to keep an eye on their routes- when things started looking off I knew they could no longer go out alone without fear of them getting lost. Cheaper than replacing the lost iPhones and no worry about them not having gps because they didn’t bring their phone. Also geo caching is an important function so you can get notifications to YOUR phone when your elderly walks out the front door while you are in the shower.
