I’m old so I had to go will 2 lighter units that I can move around more easily. I use one 1200 watt solar unit which runs my DC refrigerator for 3 days. I have another 1200 watt unit of the same kind that I charge up sometime in 3 days to swap out with the one running the DC refrigerator. There is always enough to cook and charge phones and even stream movies using this method of swapping back and forth. It’s also good for the batteries. Both units will charge in 1 hour using a sine wave gas generator (Honda 2200i) but only 3.5 hours if using solar panels. I have been nomading for 8 years. The units are small and lightweight. My food storage solution is finally solved after years of ice and ambient temperature coolers. And I have all the power I need every night. And always adjust your panels to the sun. They have tools for that. Or you can make your own shadow type tool. It will shorten your charge up times.

I’m old so I had to go with 2 smaller units that are easier to lift. My refrigerator runs for 3 days on one, leaving me 3 days to charge the other one. I found 2 units were just easier than one huge heavy one. The 2 units do hook together so I do have 2500watts if necessary. They charge in 1 hour with my gas sine wave generator if there is no sun. So I can always cheat on those days, and never have a break in my routine. A big unit is great but these smaller ones are easier for me.

Ya maybe. The thing is the amount of charge cycles a lifepo4 has most people will never come close to using them. The battery will die of age before charge cycles. Regular lithium will last plenty for a portable solar generator.

Been looking and learning as I go. I started knowing nothing, now I just know next to nothing LOL. Solar input levels were my first lesson: the Zendure I have been eyeing has a SI of 1800, while the one I thought was good previously was a mere 650. If I'm understanding any of this correctly, a higher SI is vital for those looking to get their power solely from solar. I'll want to hook up a 1500W set of panels like yours, rather than the 200W most units come with.

If that's your main concern I think a good 48v hybrid inverter maybe 6000w plus 400ah of batteries and 600w of solar panels, used are great. I think this is a good single family starter system than can easily be upgraded or parts exchanged. It's a reliable system that just takes a little know-how.

I think they're fantastic if you have the cash. But this is a lot more expensive than the portable setup I've built with more power in both Ah and Watts. It's technically up to code here too. And that thing turns heads wherever I go on top of being able to monitor everything on my phone, such as other goodies. Also safe to operate in cold climates. I like it better than the premade power station I got by a long shot. There are a lot of factors to consider. But it's absolutely a lifesaver if you don't have the time, or are not confident enough to learn every nook and cranny of building a proper power system. Which, let's face it, can be extremely dangerous. I've seen many people play with fire without having any idea of how it works which is absurd. That can cost you a lotttt more... These are wicked for the right people though.

Great information! I would think if you are off grid. The EG4 All in one inverter and EG4 server rack battery would be perfect for your situation. It provides more of everything than a Solar Generator. The downfall is the idle consumption is a bit high, but you have a large Solar bank to counter that.

i would like to know how many solar panels you have. i would also like to know how much it cost. it refers to the battery pack and the panels. my guess is that the refrig. and freezer don't really draw a lot of power, because once it's all cold it stays that way. so where drains most of the power all night? hot water? hot water is a major drain on power, but hot water is easy for a lot of people to get straight from the sun. i haven't been able to get much info. from you tube vids. on the subject.

Not bad, I'm not sure what the split phase will run at 16 amps. Not my dryer or Central AC for sure, maybe an oven, hot water heater, or well pump. You can buy two small hybrid inverters and a 5 kilowatt-hour 48 volt battery and put them on a dolly if you want mobility and get the split phase, or other combos for less, but it's still not the neat package. So definitely something to look at. Thanks for the review.

I saw a review with the lv 65-48 all-in-one inverters from MPP. the old version with a 250 volt input from solar panels the idle consumption was only a round 48 W. But the new ones with 390 volt solar array input have an idle consumption of over around 100 to 120 w. That makes those very unusable for smaller solar systems in my opinion. You have to have a huge battery Bank. I don't know about those little 5000 watt ones you're talking about I have to do some research. do you know what their Idol consumption is. Maybe they are a little lower because they're smaller. I think when they enable them to take so much solar imput they up the idle consumption a lot if it's 6500 watt inverter probably does also
@douglaswindsor120

Were do you get your spec from I've only seen one unit that has 120/240 volt capacity can't remember the name so I don't know if this is the same one but I couldn't find out any specifics on the 240 volt side or if it was split phase from what I could tell it looked like it had 2 inverters a 120 volt powering the 120 Volt plugs including the 30 amp RV plug and a 240 volt 60 Hz for the 240 volt plug if it's split phase with a 30 amp RV plug that would mean it has 2 30 amp circuits and that would power almost anything AC dryer stove welder but if it has less amps available on the 240 volt side that would definately mean 2 inverters so not a north American unit and while it's great for a 240 volt well pump it won't run a dryer as the motor is 120 volt on a stove the clock is 120 I'm still hopeful someone will bring out a unit that has the ability to add extra battery packs and a power brick to charge the battery packs and the ability to add a 2nd inverter for split phase 240 and start with a 2000 Watt inverter that way you can start with the basic and upgrade as as your budget allows up here in Canada where we only need AC for 2 month's I could go a summer with no AC until I could get a another battery or 2 and then get the 2nd inverter if this is the same unit it has the ability to charge from a car charger

@randybobandy9828

I wouldnt worry about ever having to swap the batteries out when they die. These solar generators are made with lifepo4 cells that have a 3000-6000 charge life cycle. That's not how long they will last, that's how long it will last until the capacity is reduced to 80%! Even if you drained and charged this thing from 100%-0% everyday it would last over 10 years. Closer to 15+ with typical usage

@FrugalOffGrid Жыл бұрын
This is my perspective. I brought out a generator just in case but I've only used it once. I never wanted to run it because I moved off grid for peace and quiet not to make noise. If for some reason you need more power you can simply add batteries to the system or get two systems. As far as a hybrid vs superbasepro they're about the same cost unless you get a high frequency hybrid that's cheaper. The only benefit to the homemade system is a stronger inverter in that case. Maybe 6000w vs 2200w so it boils down to if you're going to run something heavy. But you'd still need to buy the batteries that cost as much as the hybrid unit. You're kind of comparing apples to oranges. The superbasepro is like $1300 and a hybrid with batteries would be like $3000.
@randybobandy9828

Do they say what the idol consumption is.. or have you tried to test it. That's the problem with those all-in-one Chinese inverters the idle consumption is very high... I'd be willing to bet that this idle consumption is lower.. how big is the inverter in there do you think. do you think it is 3000 watts. I have a renergy 3000 watt inverter I'm pretty sure my idle consumption is very low with that one. Then I bought one of those all in ones before I knew about idle consumption and it's over 100 W I believe.. Fortunately I can turn it on and off when I don't need it. But if I had to use it overnight it would be using so much energy.. But I really don't like over 100 watt idle consumption I would definitely go a different route now for sure. I Really love your channel n your honesty😊

I run a cheap Chinese pure sine wave inverter on my DIY solar generator (says it's a 2000w but its only a 1500w) and it's idle consumption is about 23watts. Not much considering my pack is 5000wh and I have a second battery pack that I use that is also 5000wh.

Awesome channel! I hear you can nearly double your power, with a mirror. Maybe not need as many panels, or if a person needed more power. Maybe there is some cheap plastic mirror material, someone could send you to try, and show us if it works.

you're probably thinking of a fresnel lens. scientifically possible. nobody's really taken anything worthwhile to market yet, though. coupled with advances in cell technology (like perovskite), things are really looking good for solar right now.

This was the first 240 power station I know of. But it still won't handle extremely demanding 240 items larger than the inverter can handle.

would this be ideal for a single person in an 840 sq foot trailer the breaker box is 200 amps. I know nothing about this but i lost my place in IDA and I know what its like to go 18 days without power. my neighbor has a generator that runs on natural gas. I usually run an extension cord from there...but I would like to have my own set up. just enough to power a room with a window unit and heating pads computer and a lamp and a microwave...in the event of power outages like we had in 21....where do I start? Thank yall.

This is about as large and powerful and power stations come so far. AC units can be demanding but with satellite batteries or a low demand unit you should be able to make it work.

I would be concerned about keeping the unit in such a dusty environment. Is that ice I see on the top? And I’m still waiting on my solar connector. Was a member of the kickstarter campaign and I have my unit but not all accessories. How is it holding up at this point?

@ecoflowtech Do you guys want to send me a comparable unit to compare to the Zendure 4600? Randy, this unit is more powerful than their Pro which is 3 steps above the delta 2. You would have to compare this unit to their most powerful unit.

How do I sign up to be a tester in solar systems? I've been living off grid in the hood for about a year now, was kinda thrown into it, didnt plan it, but I've learned so much I would of never learned everything that I have and continue to learn, I really need some help , I no where near am able to afford something like this I got a 300w jackery, and a off the wall brand 300w And they do not get us thru whole day, I've been using scraps and what ever I can get besides ordering a 450w solar panel from temu, and then I got a few solar powered lights than I also use in series to charge various devices and batterys but no where near get more than we use, and currently working on building a 18650 battery pack from odds and ends that I've salvaged because the used lead acidz I killed 4 because I drained them too low for too long, learning the hard way, and the 18650$ even tho I know your not sposed to mix match 18650, but Im working with what I have or have salvaged, I also made a bike generator with a hoverboard wheel and made a homemade rectifier cuz it was putting out ac, I fried a pwm solar controller not knowing, but I made the rectifier from diodes from salvaged circuit boards, I'm thinking how to get to have better efficiency and high capacity storage with no $ as well as trying to tap into all available routes to generate electricity, amazing video and seriously how to I sign up to be a tester for off the grid products????

You don't sign up to be a tester lol. You have to build a audience on KZbin or another platform. Companies want to give testing products to people who will show it off to a already established audience. Until you do that, no company will look at you.
@casperbekkers1342
@casperbekkers1342 Жыл бұрын
alright so the ac input is only to charge from the wall since panels give DC power, which first needs to be converted to ac, so thats why you can only plug your panels in with the plug they provided with their solar panels.
