my chat audio on discord, it looks like the volume goes up and down, sometimes I hear people perfectly sometimes I hear them very low. just bought the nova 5 and wanted to know if its because of the headset, because of the config in the software. someone had the same problem?

is it possible for this soft to work properly? Always issues. Either cannot change the volume or forces me to set evry setting to sonar, otherwise nothing works, my mic, my headset, games audio. Eventhough I accept that and do as they force me to do, still I cannot use my speakers. I dont want to ALWAYS use my headset. But windows settings they forced me to set, make it impossible to use speaker. Any idea how to use this shit?

I don't care about the quality. Before i bought Nova 5 Wireless i could hear exact places of enemies. In War Thunder I could hear with pinpoint accuracy the exact position from which a tank behind a hill would emerge. I can't figure out the exact locations right now. Please help.

Just got a Nova 5x and was looking for options to fix the mic (as my friend said it sounds a lot worse than my old set). Windows playback device gives me those extra versions of the playback but in the Sonar it only says Headphones (Xbox Controller). I'm don't understand alot of this stuff, but would that affect how this works at all?

@@nathenfoster6375 you can’t download the application over to console, so that means the application is pc only even if your using there headset, unless there is a sonar website on console which I had no idea was, still it doesn’t carry on

Dude my main issue is my buddies voices being super super quiet in discord. The game volume is just way higher than the chat volume. I’ve tried everything to balance it and the only thing I can do it use my dongle to allow more chat volume to get through but then it lowers my game volume.

@@avve4076 yes but I figured it out. If you raise the volume boost bar in the game tab it HEAVILY overwhelms game chat audio and discord chat audio. I had it maxed out because I figured it wouldn’t affect anything but the game.

In COD (MW3), there's an option called "speakers/headphones game sound device" with 2 options: Default System Device or Stereo. I have the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. I've tested both options and personally find I hear more around me using Default System Device. Is there a reason for this?

Change it for your headphones different headphones produce different sound so it's why it's customizable. It's actually really easy once you get the hang of it mainly tweak the gain. I created a preset in media for my headphones from the flat preset, and i've only changed the gain of everything else then frequency and gain of the sub bass a little, then added a dot under low mids and the same thing i changed the gain and i messed around with the frequency until it sounded right. Everything else the frequency seems to already be correct for my laptop. For games so far i've only used the path of exile preset and i only needed to lower the bass, then turn up the gain on mid, upper, and high ranges, i actually got the idea to change the sub bass gain to 5.0 from that preset for the media one and it works well. The equalizer looks intimidating and difficult at first but they made it fairly easy for anyone to configure just by using the dots, just be careful not to accidentally change the frequency if you're on a laptop i tap them with my mouse pad but make sure you note down your presets because they won't get saved if you have to uninstall steelseries gg. Make sure to turn on automatic backup device switch upon first logging in when you've just installed steelseries gg too and never turn it off or it will make the presets stop working and you won't be able to change anything live. However sonar may stop working because of some types of updates though and nothing but uninstalling then reinstalling from a fresh installer will fix it, i just had that happen because of both things. Don't plug in or turn on your headphones before it loads up too because i've heard the updates can break things.

only thing that ever helps for me is loudness eq but it makes everything loud but i can actually hear footsteps ive tried steelseries gg but the footsteps never are loud it makes stuff quieter but the footsteps arent as loud as loudness eq

i use a razer kraken v3 x wired works good with loudness eq but idk if its cause i have a razer but it just doesn't pickup footsteps as good as loudness eq

You should probably tweak it fo your headphones i mean that's the idea making the eq customizable and if you ever buy a pair of headphones where there's way too much muffle and all the levels are wrong you can still fix it with sonar because it has AI integrated. I just did this with a pair of roxel headphones i recently bought and they're overall faulty even the sound driver on them sucks but i got the sound levels correct using the sonar. When sonar works that is i just found out it stops working after they've done a bunch of changes so you have to reinstall steelseries gg after a few bigger updates, and you have to turn on automatic device switch and never turn it off once you do because it breaks the sonar because it's what helps you make changes to the EQ live. The best thing to do is duplicate the flat configuration for media and call it the same name as your headphones then raise the gain on sub bass, then raise or lower the gain of the mid range, upper mids, and highs. Add a dot at low mids too and mess around with the frequency and gain a bit until it sounds right. Then turn on spatial audio and set the distance to 80 but turn it off if you're listening to any music that uses two ear channels a lot. if the voice needs to be a bit louder in music set it to about 2.0 that should be enough. For gaming duplicate the rainbow six siege by ubisoft preset and then again tweak it for your headphones, i just don't know at which level makes the footsteps louder because i don't use it so play around with it a bit a bit but it should be fairly easy to figure out now you know what to mainly tweak from how you did for the media preset. Keep spatial audio off because it's not really compatible with the six siege presets. For rpg or even tomb raider games the path of exile preset is the best to go for.

Read if your thinking on buying they need to put this on a phone app I don’t have a laptop -_- I ain’t gonna lie out of the box my turtle beaches had way better game audio I could hear foot steps coming a mile away and it was 70 dollars cheaper I paid 120 for the tb and 193 for the 7p out of the box turtle beaches are better the only thing about the steel series is the build quality is nice tb feels cheap but the functionality is good af
