It's worth noting that fast lenses are also great in architecture photography because you can simply use focus stacking for critical scene depth. Then for spaces with intentional lowlight (entertainment spaces especially), it's easy to get great shots at 100 ISO without figuring out a long exposure on site.
@PaulFeinberg Жыл бұрын
I don’t use focus stacking too much, but Luminar has a pretty sweet extension for that. Good tips! Thanks for watching

Great Video, Paul! I've noticed maturing in video (for me) is realizing that not everything--especially real estate-- should be shot with a wide open aperture. Shooting f8+ for real estate is great advice.
@PaulFeinberg2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Ya for real estate video a great lens is the new 16-35mm f4. Looks awesome, portable, works great on a gimbal and you want everything to be in focus so the f4 is fine. I am Learning as well that everything doesn’t need to be low low Aputure….I mean I love that background blur but there are times when you don’t need a ton of it.

@ heavy, f2.8 not needed for the real estate side unless doing video. Overall another good option lens. I does a good job with real estate but I just love the 12-24mm because of versatility in all spaces even if I mainly shoot at 14mm. The 14-24 can do real estate great though.

PZ is great for video. I personally like something wider for smaller bathrooms and such. You can get away with a 16-35mm but prefer at least 14mm for small spaces and 12mm for small bathrooms comes in handy.

I currently am doing RE photography and using a 16-35mm GM II with an A7IV. I purchased this 12-24 which helps A LOT in tight spaces. Deciding if it’s worth keeping the 16-35 or picking up a 14mm GM for video, and using the 12-24 f4 for all my RE photography. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey thanks for this! I'm pretty much sold. I already have the 16-35 2.8 tho. It tends to distort. Is there less distortion with a prime 12mm lens? It's a 1/3 of the price and I'm just getting started, but I'm thinking this one might be worth the investment. Would I be better off just getting the 12-24? It sounds like that's all I would need. I also have a 24-70 and 70-200. Thank you! Great vid.

I have the 16-35 GM for my KZbin channel and I still only use the 12-24mm f4 for all real estate photography. Hands down the best I have tried with no swapping lenses. Spare no expense the 14mm f1.8 GM….Sony 16-35mm GM (I would hold off till the version 2 gets announced and you would need a gimbal strong enough) budget options Sigma 16-28mm f2.8. I personally use the Tamron 17-28mm right now (I would buy the sigma now that it is out) and I am looking to get the 16-35mm GM version 2 when it releases. For video the F-Stop does matter. The 14mm works great inside but you can’t put filters on it for outside.

@@PaulFeinberg I find it pretty interesting that it’s so prevalent in the US and Canada. Here in NL most of the real estate shots are at minimum 20.
