Simon and Garfunkles version was a soft warning. Disturbed's version is the Angry "Why have you not heeded the warning." Pentatonix's version shouting the warning again, without anger, but with high spirited hope.

As I write this, you are a new dad!! Congratulations on adding a son to your world. Nothing will ever be the same again. Now you have met him, held him and fallen madly in love with him, you will feel things that you didn't know were coming. Best Wishes on a wonderful life for you all. As for The Sound of Silence review, this is an amazing rendition. They blend perfectly and make sure that they are all showcased. If you have reviewed it already, I suggest Hallelujah. I listen to it every day just to ground myself that this crazy world we are in will fade and we will find some sense of normalcy. How that will look? I don't know but what I do know is that listening to any song sung by Pentatonix makes my day better, happier and full of beautiful music.

Congrats on the arrival of your child! I hope the delivery is easy on your wife and that your child has all blessings bestowed upon him. Both PTX and Disturbed did great covers of this song but it's very hard to "compare" them. I've heard it described that Disturb's version is anger that Simon & Garfunkel's warning wasn't heeded and that PTX's version is hope that we can course-correct. I feel that's a great way to look at it.

Hi Jake, It is hard not to like Pentatinox. How any group can create this kind of sound with just their voices is crazy. The A Cappella groups started to become popular here in the US around the years 2010 - 2011 and have developed clubs in the High Schools and in the colleges. There have been competitions as well and Pentatinox got there start with winning on a talent show for A Capella groups that was called " The Sing Off". They got $200,000 and recording contract. In addition, there was a movies series ," Pitch Perfect" that promoted A Capella and I believe Pentatinox actually had a part in one of the 3 movies made. I am hopeful you will do some more. This song you just did has 92 million views and if you do a few more of theirs , it will add a lot of new members. I have notice a lot of reactors adding the Disturbed version. Disturbed is an old hard rock band hanging around and attempting to hold on to a B lever career they did had in the 2000's . To be completely honest, they were never a household name here and they did have some record sales, but are pretty much unknown here in the US. I think there style is a bit archaic (old fashion compared to what is happening today ) and I am pretty sure they got a lucky break to be on a late night TV show and there promotional people have flooded the reactors on KZbin to do their song. They are a very typical heavy metal band with little innovation in my opinion and nothing that doesn't sound like most of my local garage bands in this area. I do not intend to insult the Disturbed fans, I think they had their time and music is different today. They don't have a big following and I personally wouldn't waste my time. First off, congratulations on the little one! Second, I am a much bigger fan of this version than the Disturbed version. That version is just too angry, which I do NOT believe was writer Paul Simon's intention. The Simon & Garfunkel versions (there are actually two, an acoustic version and a version with electric guitar and drum overdubs) were much more gentle and somewhat optimistic. I feel that this Pentatonix version captured that feeling as well.

Paul Simon wrote Sounds of Silence in 1965. It’s still relevant.

He actually wrote it in 1963 and the first acoustic Simon & Garfunkel version was recorded and released in 1964 for their debut album Wednesday Morning 3 AM. The more familiar "electric" version, which was just overdubs on the acoustic version, was released in 1965, both as a single and on the Sounds Of Silence album. The name of the song is actually Sound (no "S") Of Silence. The album title confuses a lot of people as to the the name of the song.

Zapewniam cie, że którąkolwiek weżmiesz piosenkę w ich wykonaniu będziesz zachwycony. W końcu są laureatami trzech nagród Grammy. Śpiewają nie tylko covery ale też własne utwory. Miałam być na ich koncercie w Warszawie w zeszłym roku ale z powodu pandemii został przełożony na maj tego roku ale to nadal nic pewnego. Did you manipulate the sound of the original, maybe to avoid the copyright bots? The channels are messed up and the treble and bass are fluctuating in your video. It really makes it sound messed up and ruins the music. I just checked the original to make sure it wasn't something in my equipment and the original isn't affected so it is your video. If you didn't do it intentionally, then there is something messed up with the recording. Maybe it is your recording program/app because it isn't happening when you are speaking? It might not be enough for most people to notice, but it is very noticeable to me.

I like the original sung by Simon and Garfunkle, I also like Disturb's version. I also love Pentatonix style. All three are sung different styles. This choosing one over the other, is puzzling to me, unless they are sung the same way.

Dear Jake, The sound of silence is one of my alltime favourite songs. It was one of my first LPs I bought from Simon and Garfunkel and I sung it myself a lot of times. I love the version by Disturbed. I also think Pentatonix are a great a capella groupe and really enjoy their music. In this particular song they don`t really convince me. I just don`t know why. Perhaps they didn`t get the atmosphere, don`t know. It didn`t catch me although they sing perfectly. Best wishes to your wife and for the birth of your baby!
