Man your cruze sounds great! I got my silver 2016 rs first Gen cruze at carmax showroom 5 years ago. I would love to do things like what yours. KZbinr Matthew chevalier has done a lot of mods to his also. These little 1.4s can really perform if tuned right I feel like. I'd spend some money on it to make it a little rally car but already have a 94 lt1 6 speed vette and a land rover disco2 I gotta invest in lol but will say I like what you done to your car in your other video, the spoiler look good and lowered with those wheels.

The vette sounds good, only things I've done to it in the last 7 years was throw a corsa dual cat back exhuast on it and a triple head k&n cold air intake on it along with some led bulbs under the hood and headlights. Its the black on black with the sawblade wheels. The cruze I'm keeping kinda clean mostly, since it's silver with the red rs badge I used my Chevrolet points to buy some red brake caliper covers that say cruze for the front. Also a k&n cold air red also lol. Might get that tuner chip you linked although had some problems with it the past 9 months luckily most was under warranty. The turbo went out and the intake manifold along with some smaller things just hit 80,000 miles. The land rover just trying to keep it running, now might have a dropped engine sleeve. I seen your new wheels on the camero, those rotinni? Not sure how spelled look good, the og 5 spoke too but definitely stand out. That camero is slick bro. And you lowered the cruze too. I had a 95 2 door civic that was lowered but I wasn't about the ride quality every little bump you hit felt like something broke. Doesn't help all these potholes in ohio. Oh that dude Chad was legit when he said fuck what anybody thinks of what you do to your car. I had an 01 Malibu I modded the he'll out of in 2010. From a full body kit, new black paint job, a wing, scorpion bzo wheels, blue underglow, blue wires, a racing tuner, halo headlights, euro tail lights a banging sound system, viper alarm and a whistler radar mounted lol all my cars on KZbin just private right now. Imma do this to my girls car; the turbo she has is small and feels very heavy when stepping on pedal as it takes off. It’s not immediately that it takes off I feel due to the small turbo; but maybe this will help it breath and take off faster. This car is full of problems with their plastic parts that don’t last long; currently changing hoses with pcv valves. Looking forward to doing this. What else do you recommend? Her car is completely stock. Can you send me the list and parts numbers of the Cold air intake and the little device please? Thank you!

Hey, how are you doing? Sweet, I’m glad you want to upgrade her car. Yes with a tune the Cruze will wake up and you can hear the blow off valve noise as well with an CAI. I don’t know what year Cruze she has to give exact part numbers, but I can send you links and detailed names. www.cruzeculture.com will have the Bad News Racing Chevrolet Cruze Handheld tuner and CAIs. I recommend getting a K&N Typhoon air intake or an AEM Cold air intake, but those could be purchased on any site. There’s a PCV kit for our cruzes that will solve the issue and prevent it from happening. Here is the link for it: cruzekits.com and get the kit for her Cruze. I’ve heard a lot of great things about these kits. Also, Cruze Culture is the best site for aftermarket parts for cruzes too

I know my reply is super late but these are Ecotec engines and they are known for having very loud lifters. I've owned a couple of vehicles with Ecotecs and they're all loud.

Make sure it's not the EVAP purge solenoid clicking.. they start clicking loudly afterwarm up.. mine is clicking crazy sounds like lifters. But if you unplug it and no tick noise .. then it's not lifters..

I don’t know if you’ll see this. I have a 2012 1.4L turbo Cruze and I installed the same intake. Everything I did is connected and correct I believe but I have a blow off noise as well as a flutter noise. No codes are being thrown or have been for a couple days. MAF sensor is connected and everything else is connected properly. All I can think of is that drain tube u disconnect from the stock air box and I’ve just left my there cuz it doesn’t go on the new one. Do you have any clue what I did to make the flutter? Im worried it’s bad

According to a ranking of 85 Chevrolet generations by their reliability ratings, the first generation Chevy Cruze models from 2011 to 2015 ranked the lowest at 85. What problems made this the worst Chevy to buy? For starters, there were instances of leaking water pumps in the 1.4-liter engine models. The leaks caused the air conditioning to stop working and caused the car to overheat. It was enough of a problem for there to be an announcement in the GM service bulletin in January 2015 for 2011 to 2014 models with that engine. The warranty coverage for the issue got extended by GM to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever came first. The repair involved replacing the water pump. There were reports of defective PCV diaphragms in the valve cover. There were also instances of missing air check valves in the intake manifold that cause numerous problems with the 1.4-liter turbo engine. The problems resulted in blue smoke from the exhaust, excessive oil use, and a rough idle - all of which triggered the check engine light. There were cases of the PCV pipe being faulty too. The repairs involved replacing the intake manifold in some cases. In other cases, the valve cover needed replacing. Either way, the repair could cost several hundred dollars. The Chevy Cruze also reportedly had oil leaks from the engine, cooler lines, and transmission seals. Coolant leaks caused problems requiring that the thermostat housing be replaced. There were trunk release switch issues, which, while not expensive to fix, could cause quite a few headaches. There were ignition coils that were faulty and caused misfires. The earlier models in this generation of Chevy Cruze even experienced complete transmission failures. Another GM service bulletin reported electrical problems caused by loose negative battery cables. The result could be the display randomly turning on and off. It also caused problems with the anti-lock brake system, service traction system, and more. The final verdict Because of the many issues with the Chevy Cruze from 2011 to 2015, it’s rated by Consumer Reports as worse than average for predicted reliability. Many of the problems were addressed with increased warranties or recalls. Those in the market for a used sporty compact car may want to take a look at something else. The Toyota Corolla, Toyota Prius, Honda Civic, or the Mazda3 might be better choices. If your heart is set on a first-generation Cruze anyway, consider a model with the 1.8-liter engine as it had far fewer troubles than the 1.4-liter turbo.

There's no way with tuning and adding a cold air intake would bring the 1.4L turbo engine from 138hp up to 190hp. I would believe if you said that it was 170hp at best and the torque is already 155fp so maybe I could say that it could be increased to 200fp. The stock 1.5L 4cyl double overhead cam and a turbocharger is the base engine from the Chevrolet Malibu and it's 175hp and 210fp, and the optional engine is a 2.0L double overhead cam and a turbocharger for an amazing 250hp and 265fp of torque. See the difference between the two engines at JUST 0.1L increase and likely some modifications. But displacement is the key. Just like the saying goes, There's no replacement for displacement ! ! !

The 2011s are the worst Cruze to get but they get better after that. Idk about specifically for the 2012 cruzes, but there are many gen 1 cruzes that last a long time. I’ve a lot of them reach over 200,000 miles. These cars can last a long time if maintained properly and everything

@@ianseiler8813 I’ve had the same experience unfortunately. I do put on a lot of miles, but I’ve yet to go between oil changes without an expensive engine or coolant issue. Hmm that is a low price, but brand new the intake systems are around $280. I would suggest checking it out first to see if any issues and if it’s good, get it, and purchase a K&N air filter kit to clean the filter, so it’ll be like it’s brand new. But I doubt something is wrong with it, price is just Lowkey suspicious

Ur psi isn’t comparable, size of turbo, motor, compression ratio, etc. thats all factors in hp. A cruze’s turbo is meant to be a gas saver and is a lot smaller than a sti’s. Ive had both cars and an sti stock will boost to 17.9 btw.

I feel you. Mine was good to 42000 miles and now at 53000, it needs a 3rd engine. But has had water pump (warranty), engine (cracked piston), water bleed crack, thermostat, PCV nipple, valve cover diaphragm, belt, battery. Catalytic converter (from engine oil burn).

@@a2cryss I bought mine used at 61k miles and I've had it for just over 2 years an it's at 103k. I had replace both front bearings all the brakes the coolant outlet pipe. Coolant overflow tank. All 4 tires. Driver's window regulator an the Spark plugs. Not as bad as yours but I've had older cars with 200k+ miles with less problems than my cruze. An I know I'm looking at way more problems with it.

I wouldn't believe either. But I've got a bullydog tuner on mine and it records ur highest boost on the gauge. I've actually hit 21# about 3Xs. It usually stays about 19. But I'm old. It's my 49 year old wife's car. I had a guy in a big Dodge Cummins truck ask me how much boost? I told him. 20. He replied how? But it's a small turbo. But my goal was to get a little more hp for a lil more pep . it didn't work as plan. My cold air intake throws the car in limp mode and my tuner doesn't work on my 91 octane tune? So it stays in performance mode. It's still not a quick car by any means

It’s only a 1.4L, not a lot of space to fill so even the little turbo on there can make that. Hell, people are making 12 psi on their 800cc sleds. My stock Cummins with some bolt ons made 37 psi so yes 20 psi is completely believable with a tune

Psi is relative, 20psi on a the small stock turbo is nothing compared to 20psi from something like a garrett gtx3076

Bought mine at 100,000 miles put 75,000 miles on it in a two years. I did cold air intake, turbocharged, resonator delete, muffler delete, 3in exhaust, ungraded of coil and plugs, and haven’t dealt with to many issues but enough issues to get debatable. I’ve replaced valve cover 6 times, purge solenoid, turbocharger oil feed line, heater core housing 2 times, spark plugs about 11 because they fouled bad and would loose reliability to work, fuses not often but just a few here there throughout the 2 years. I replaced all 3 windows ;front and back right side door windows would break the cable and plastic mounts for glass. Driver door window would also break cable and plastics, fall, and get stuck. I’ve replaced a shattered back right door glass. Both front door windows fell completely in the door and when I looked the cable broke or the mounts broke off the assembly at the base and window making it completely useless and having to replace. Coolant has leaked since the day I bought the car. Oil leaks from turbo lines. Battery levels are never normal ever. Flex pipe eventually squish like a pop can as if I smashed a beer and squeezed it. One burnout snapped my tensioner. Replaced tensioner 4 times only one time it broke that I did a burnout as it’s hard to do in these cars lol. Replace battery twice. Car plug-in ports like usb aux had to replace. Crankshaft seal had to replace. Throttle body had to be cleaned. Oil draining into intake and turbo. Maf sensor replaced 3 times.o2 sensor replace 3 times. Ecm needed plugs cleaned. Cylinder head cracked exactly where you bolt it down at( yes the fu*+ing bolt holes where they screw in at broke! No rethread nothing will be the fix although I’ve rethread Ed them like 4 times. 3 bolt holes snapped off the head on the inside wall I removed all pieces. 1 bolt is broke off in head. Now bad oil leak due to cylinder not holding. Pressure and literally sh*¥t*ng all the oil out witching a 30 miles drive. I’m stuck with the cylinder replacement cost and don’t see the value anymore. Fun car. I got 226 hp out of it with stock engine, stock turbo, stock trans and all major parts. Just can no longer afford ts yo. 280 on eBay and 599+ bran new. I hope for myself for the best. That is *NOT* a cold air intake. Think about it. It's drawing air from under the hood. A real cold air intake draws air from outside the vehicle.

@@CruzinThroughLife false, that box under the intake is closed at the grill not allowing any air to get to it, then it goes to the box that vent under the intake attaches to and its a series of chambers and angles that not much air if any can really get to it, basically the only air your gettn to the intake is air in the engine bay

Yeah but unless u have aftermarket air flow the factory air inlet to the intake is actually closed off to the intake, factory or aftermarket. Take apart the grill or bumper off and you will see no air from outside of the car ever reaches the intakes unless u reroute the air flow to it.
