My neighbor has seen the results of my yard and has starting asking questions. I started following you last year and the results are amazing. So my neighbor is wanting to change his yard to look like mine, I told him I follow the lawn care nut. So I got 2 projects going on this year. My parents are wanting a yard like mine and my Nieghbor does as well. Having said that my neighbor has subscribed to you and has also bought the bio stimulus1 gallon set to start. 😊 thanks Alan for everything. I can’t mow my front yard without Nieghbors stopping me and asking questions. I love it.

Happy Easter to you and your family! He is risen! I am doing the spoon feeding thing this year. Put down about .4 lbs N last weekend. Huge green up from the Lesco 24-0-11, has 3% iron as well, which really helped. Going to put down the other half of the bag in about 2-3 weeks, then organics from there on out through til fall when I do the fall N blitz. We’ll see how that works out this year. Really need to push that new baby grass from last fall to start spreading.

After about ten years of neglecting my lawn, I started to take care of it last spring. I'm in southern NY State and after following a plan, things worked well and the lawn started picking up slowly. Fall came around and put down some Milo on Labor Day, then overseeded mid September and then threw down some Milo right before Thanksgiving. Early March I put down some lime on the lawn and last week I put down some fertilizer with baracade from a company called the Andersons. Well, I have to say, I'm already dominating my neighbors, I've already mowed twice this season before anyone else has mowed once and the grass is really starting to thicken and green up which is amazing. The front of my house still needs to get better but the back is out of this world great. One thing I did notice was the robins are looking for food in my lawn, I thought automatically it was grubs so I dug up a test area where I saw the most pecking holes and didn't find any grubs, rather I found lots of worms so I gather that the soil is getting a good amount of nutrients now that I started taking care of the lawn. Your videos have really helped...I don't follow to a tee but I do follow what I think will work best from your videos and they really are working. Great feeling seeing the dominations lines...its a feeling of success!!!

Great video Allyn. Thanks for featuring my lawn. Hard work pays off. Comment about throwing down. I regularly put a 1/2 lb more product in the spreader. I feel the product spreads more uniform at the end of the area with the added weight. I then make sure to have that amount left in the spreader.

One of the issues I’ve found in the past with pushing nitrogen in the spring is when we get those rainy periods and the lawn gets super overgrown. It becomes a mess! Also worth noting is pushing nitrogen may disguise issues you have in the lawn. It’s growing so fast you really have to pay attention and know your land. I like the idea of backing off a little and trying to push root growth. I’m going with 8-1-8. Really into the liquids now and can’t wait to try the N-ext products this year!

I think a cool series would be for us lazy people. Just use store brand products just using their recommended settings on the spreader your using. A good example is Menards. They have their own brand of fertilizers. They have them numbers 1-4. 1 is the pre-emergent, 2 is weed and feed, 3 is feed and 4 is winterizer. For weed spraying use something off the shelf.

Hi Allyn. I hope you had a good Easter. I haven't read all the comments yet, so I don't know if my question was already asked by someone else. I live in northern New England (about an hour north of Boston), and I'll be putting my Scott's feed plus crabgrass preventer down this week. (I already purchased it before watching this video, but I've taken notes so I'll know what to put down next year.) My question is this: I have some moss on one section of lawn that has a lot of shade and moisture. I could roll up the moss like a carpet a couple years ago, which left a big bare spot that I re-seeded and looked great for a couple years. Now the moss is growing back, and looks like it might be choking out or competing with the fescue. I've tried iron treatments and Scott's moss treatment in the past. What would you recommend to keep the moss from returning? Thanks! - Bob

I installed an irrigation system and want to create a beautiful lawn like yours using your suggestions. Can you tell me what type of fungicide you put in your front yard that day and how much? start with one or the other now and re-evaluate in a couple weeks. If you want a good way to get started, get Scotts BonusS and put that down - it will kill many of the weeds and also fertilize the lawn at the same time.
