My Grandma would send the grandkids out to her garden in early Spring to pick the dandelion leaves. It is important to pick ones that have no yet flowered, as it is the flowering that makes them bitter. Then she would saute them in salt pork and make her famous Frita Verde omelet. So delicious!

I love dandelions! I boil them and serve with a drizzle of olive oil, S/P and lemon juice. Cold or hot it is a delicious salad or side dish. Pairs well with anything, from chicken, to steak or fish. In Greece it is a very popular dish.

Good morning! The video is full of good recipes. Years ago I remember my grandmother picking dandelions and cooking them. I enjoyed them. Your pear trees look like a lovely wall paper print.🌿🍐. Daffodils are a true harbinger of spring. 🌼🌱 Thank you for the enjoyable video.

I enjoy the Allen classes. I am deathly allergic to all types of fungi but I loved them when I could eat them which was many years ago.

The morels that I pick are never clean, be they black yellow or half-free. Little critters love them as much as we do and I always get several off of my morels after picking each day during the season. Even slugs from inside them. But, hey, more protein?

We call morels "dry land fish. " I guess because when you fry them they have a little bit of a similar flavor. There's false morels too, so be careful.

@@PAllenSmith If I see an opportunity to get them at the whole foods store I go to (Edge Of The Woods) or discount store (Aldi) I will buy them. They would have been great when I grew up in the country. Would have strengthened our immunity systems. Especially my father's. It weakened from going to many fires in the area as a volunteer fire fighter. Non-paying back then. My father actually helped create it. Yet he said it seemed to be backfiring due to many suspected arsens.
