WD_Black SN850 works great for me. Played the PS5 Horizon Forbidden West with lighting quick load times. Sometimes too quick. Can't even take a snack break. Also, less expensive than the Samsung 990 Pro (most powerful Gen 4 SSD read/write speeds) when there isn't a sale going on.

The ssd is only meant for storage expansion. You will not get any performance improvements at all.

​​@@muddimerta little bit but is not gonna affect the performance and sometimes i don't know how ,but the PS5 With that SSD internal storage sometimes the loading times and FPS increase a little bit more faaster with that M2 SSD gen 4 drive, if You ask me i don't know how the PS5 does that

​@muddimert No not faster load times a little slower than normal because it's pulling from the ssd itself I just got the 990 pro with heatsink aswell 2tb one though. Literally just gives you more space and that is all

Never had the need for a new ssd for my PS5. I bought it in 2021. I just keep 2-3 games and delete them when I finish them.

Some of us ain't got fast enough wifi to delete and download over and over when I got my ssd I was running 10mb speeds now I have almost 500 mbs but still takes an hour or more to download 100gb+ so having an ssd just saves you time so you can hop on any game you're buddies are gonna be on
