Hey! I am slowly, very slowly, recovering from plantar fasciitis. I have wide feet and I have run 4 100 ultras in the past 4 years all in Altra Olympus 4/5. Id like to move away from Altra atleast until my plantar fasciitis subsides. What shoe can support my feet but also allow me to but roughly 40 - 50 miles on them a week without feeling like boats : ) thanks

@scottm.2490 hey 👋🏼 you could try the Hoka Speedgoat 6 (wide version). I love them for ultra running. They also have a relatively low drop (5mm) so won’t be too much of a shock coming from Altra. Here’s my review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h16WnGWrrNF9p7csi=4RXfwdFB06XrI5qt

Hey, I’m looking to replace my baseball cleats for trail runners. I mostly play in the infield, and also I need be able to run bases without slipping. I read through forums and seen that a lot of people liked the Salomon Speed cross. Some other shoes I was looking at were the Salomon Genesis and the Merrell Long Sky. I’m not sure which shoe I should get and I am open to any other suggestions.

Would u recommend the hurrane 24 for heavy runner and I do underpronation a bit
@trailandkale3 ай бұрын
Yes, the hurricane is fantastic - its very cushioned but also has a stable platform for heavier runners. If your supination is minimal then these should be fine. If it's quite bad then id recommend a neutral shoe with a firmer midsole

A Nike shoe in a top 3 list of stability shoes. That's got to be an example of swoosh bias

No swoosh bias in this house

The Hurricane 24 is fantastic, much better than Saucony Guide 17 or New Balance 860v14. It’s my favorite shoe period.

Its in a league of its own isn’t it

@@trailandkale Yes indeed. By the way, I trust your reviews of shoes I’ve never tried out because your reviews of shoes I do know tend to line up very closely with my own observations

Hi first what a great channel. I am new and love your reviews. What do you recommend for shoe for more supination problems. Shoes that a neutral stable or more push you medial. Those old medial post shoe do the opposite for me. I have a podo insole that subtly guide me and a medium normal high arch. Most website only give you the choice for pronate stability. I am 85 kg and not light on my feets so very very soft foam will not work. Wide platform, side walls, lateral flare or both medial and lateral, not to tapper mid foot, good heel. I land more heel/mid and for me 5-8mm work better. I like to make a rotation of a 1.Recovery/daily 2.daily work horse 3. Tempo Do you have some ideas? I saw for example -recovery/daily Hurricane (more central guidance) -daily 880 or 860 or tempus or novablast, ride 17 -tempo Mach 6 / brooks Hyperion max 2/ rebel 4 Your help is welcome. Thanks mate for your great reviews

Thank you! Just letting you know I’ve acknowledged this question but I’m out at the moment and want to give you an appropriately detailed answer on this, so will reply from my laptop later today 👍🏼

Hey 👋🏼 so, I recommend a neutral shoe with a firmer sole for you. I have created roundups that should help point you in the right direction. Read my reviews of the ones with that medium-high drop you like. Daily trainers roundup: www.trailandkale.com/gear/best-running-shoes-daily-trainers/ - I know you’re not into cushioned as much but for recovery shoes these cushioned running shoes are great, and some like the On Cloudeclipse are surprisingly stable (and neutral): www.trailandkale.com/gear/best-cushioned-running-shoes-max-cushion/ - and for tempo running shoes, check this roundup out: www.trailandkale.com/gear/best-tempo-running-shoes-speed-training/ - hope these recommendations help get you lined up with the right shoes for you. -Alastair

@@trailandkale thanks. The cushion shoe what I think for some stability supination problem. Hurrican 24? Tempo Mach 6 or Hyperion max, rebel also an option? Daily I found harder ghost max is for me to soft and Clifton ok, any other 880 looks wide ?

I'm curious how the Nike infinity run 4 compare to the Saucony hurricane 24.

In general or would you like to know how a specific feature compares?

Are there any stability shoes for trail running? (Preferably waterproof)
@trailandkaleАй бұрын
The Genesis has good support and there’s a Gore tex version of it: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/salomon-genesis-review/

The vectiv infinite 2 has good stability too but it’s not waterproof
