the sheer cost of houses in VA is just insane.. million... 500k for just a single family house... its insane.

Burke and West Springfield are a lot closer to DC, not crowded, good schools, and definitely at lower prices. Houses there were built in the 70s but it's not hard to find very well maintained ones.

Most are soulless places - falls church , Vienna Arlington Fairfax have small cities feel and people who have lived there for a long time I.e strong communities
