I've never seen anyone do that to a breakaway sinker, but as soon as i saw it, it made perfect sense
@jacopgame30684 ай бұрын
Thank you it’s been allot of trial and error but it’s always the simplest ideas that work and the hardest ones to figure out. There is something I missed out on the video, when you make your full rig let it hang with the sinker on till the rig has no line twists

@jacopgame3068 I've made pulley rigs with store bought stuff, including those sinkers with the stuck on bait clips, but your solution is the easiest and simplest I've seen.

can you do a video on how you did your sinker. looks simple enough but want your input
@jacopgame306813 күн бұрын
@@tonganikora9393 I’m not sure what you mean but I can try and explain what I do to the sinker. I take one of the wires and about 10mm I’ll make a 45 degree bend and push that wire as close to the centre of the sinker as I can.

This is a very informative video! I like the way you explain the rig. I am located in Dunedin, and I sometimes surfcast for rigs, seven gill sharks, kahawai and blue mokis. The pre tied rig from shops are expensive and I agree they charge way too much bro, tie your rig save the bank, and it would be more suitable for local conditions. Great video bro, this is a pro video!

Great video man! Im just wondering why you insist on a breakaway sinker? What benefit does it give? Im just starting out
@jacopgame3068Ай бұрын
@@thorwrigglesworth5116 very good Question and I can see why you ask because I use to not like them. The 2 main reasons why I use a break away sinker is because it’s designed to cast far and grip the sand well. The other reason is because it works great with the rig i showed on the video and also amazing for other popular surf casting rigs. It’s just a great sinker for fishing from the beach. Hopefully that answers your questions well
@jacopgame3068Ай бұрын
Ohh I will add if you use a breakaway sinker it’s allows you to use a smaller sinker in the surf which actually helps you cast further and still hold really well on the beach
@jefflouis565820 күн бұрын
Helps with long casts as all the weight is on the end of the line which then pulls in a straighter direction, less air resistance, much better balance. It’s basically a paternoster rig

Hey, the store bought have two hooks on the trace, ones free sliding and other one fixed. You reckon this is needed?
@jacopgame30684 ай бұрын
@jamesparker9424 no I don't so since I usually use smaller baits but if you are using big baits its good but the hooks the store bought traces come with are too small so better to tie your own and customize to your fishing area and what your targeting, which is the best thing about this rig.

@@jacopgame3068 I think he is right. You tied a half blood knot. The tucked-half blood knot is even better but requires one last step - that's what I use after 60 years fishing. That wire trace will be good for freshwater fishermen in Ireland targeting pike (I used to fish there). When sharks are not an issue I will use fluro rather than wire - it generally becomes important for action in very clear water.
