Today was my first day on Woody's Wheel Works - Off road maven woodyswheelwor... a 21” front and 18” rear. Now I have more grip and less rollover resistance. This upgrade made my electric bike feel like a proper dirt bike for the first time. If I could go back this would be my first upgrade for sure! These wheels are custom made for the Sur Ron X and Segway X260 so the front fits perfectly and the rear is even offset 1/4” so you can fit the biggest tire possible without hitting the chain!

Hey Edwin, we (Charged Cycle Works) 100% agree with you, upgrading your wheelset to either 16/19 or 18/21 is the best mod you can possibly make to a Surron and completely changes these bikes to what they should have been from the factory. We love the 16/19 for it’s light, nimble, playful characteristics, and the 18/21 like you have for making it a larger bike. The traction and handling improvements on both setups is astounding!! I'd like to get a 19/16 setup, because it probably won't affect the range too much, but I want more ground clearance than the stock, not less... 21/18 probably will hep to get over big rocks and stuff more like a real dirt bike without constant shaking (I have fox 40 2021 and it still shakes a lot when going through something rough at high speed, more like a dh bike, not dirt bike).

Well I can say it's about double the price of the bike if all the correct upgrades are done.I was going to get one but then did some simple math.You can sell your old parts but not for much and if you want to spend your time doing that.Its not a bad bike but I haven't seen to many people not doing upgrades.So that tells me it's the cheapest electric dirt bike.If you want to ride on roads this is not the bike for you.Look at Huck or Onyx for street riding.

I want that same wheel set so bad. But I'm going to hold out. I know within a year or 2, people are going to develop wider swing arms to accommodate even wider wheels and tires. People are also making mounts to allow you to run dirt bike forks. You have an awesone build so far. You're so lucky to have such awesome places to ride near by.

Front planted feel... heavy to get front up... Front wheel holds spinning momentum well acting like gyro and wind sail... Squishy back tyre for wheelies makes easy to judge valance point harder back tyre makes it faster response times rear susspension also another variable.. i ride hard tail dirt jumper (push bike)... Looks like you could have better balance kept lower and centred... Can you do a stoppie and bounce on front wheel with shock compression

Less oil in front shocks maybe more weight in front wheel.... Add weight in tyre extra tube wrapped round inner tube.. if your front wheel keeps spinning holding weight...

Add a 60t sprocket to get back to OEM power with this setup. Charged Cycle Works KZbin has acceleration tests showing this. I ride this setup with 60t with OEM battery and controller and it’s good.

If every "off road" mod is made with new parts, the Sur Ron becomes a plus $10K bike. Suspension upgrades like fork, rear shock, 21F/18R wheels, new tires, cockpit controls, handle bars, hand guards, brake system replacement, bigger capacity battery , more powerful motor controller, drive train chain conversion and sprockets, foot pegs, fenders etc. Easily go over $10k to turn the Sur Ron X into a proper hard core trail weapon. My own next personal upgrade has to be the battery (60V62Ah) and BAC4000 controller, before the wheel set though, because just slapping the additional weight of a new heavier wheel set will definitely put a dent in the stock battery range.

@@jordany7018 Sure it's less weight, but you will pull faster lap times on a KTM eXc. I own both, Sur Ron is awesome but you're comparing apples & oranges, dude. Nothing alike in any way. KTM eXc is heaps better on trails & the motocross track. Weight is not always your enemy. If you really want something lightweight and extremely fas,t just get a Drill One X. It will eat the 72v Sur Ron alive on MTB trails. The Sur Run is good for what it is, nothing more. It's an overpowered downhill bike that's a crap ton of fun to ride and less work than a full-size MX bike.
