I always find with Bard it's good to go 2 levels fighter until you get ring of mystic scoundrel and then swap for 2 paladin for the damage. Feel Bard's strength is control and where it makes the best use of hat of arcane acuity you want action surge to CC early and then use the ring when you get it to CC. Being able to lockdown enemies with hold person/hold monster and then crit smite them is just so good

Hunger of Hadar and Counterspell. Those are your magical secrets spells. Doesn't matter what other classes you are adding or what items you are using, those two are by far the best. If you drop hunger and plant growth, the fight ends 90% of the time. No saving throw involved. Counterspell is self-explanatory.

Yeah hunger of hadar and plant growth are incredible together! Counterspell is another very powerful spell to have to keep your team safe

Think I like the pally better. Action surge is great but smite with those spell slots is better. How about a main charisma build with at least 3 levels of lock and bard+pally?

Agreed! Divine smite on flourish is so strong. That’s why I went with it in this video but fighter is also an option (starting fighter gives constitution saving throw proficiency too!) I’ll work on a charisma build thanks for the idea!

Paladin 2, Bard 10 = Best, Bard 6 (swords) Warlock 5/6 or 1 Rog = Very good both are fantastic for soloing too. So many good bard builds it's crazy.

It depends which bard you play. I always think, what does my bard do mostly? What do roll should they have in the party? Honestly there’s so many ways to play a bard, i think there is no good or bad. I even once played a bard/ druid combo and it was ok. My favorites is still my reworked Benedict bard. Best support, backup healer and conversation monkey:D

The bard can do any role in the party well, it’s crazy how versatile they are while still being very strong. I love the sword bard it’s seriously so good. 10 bard with 2 paladin or fighter is crazy strong

@@JasonDunna Yeah, i did that a year ago. Gave my Tiefling Paladin just 3 levels sword bad and she had so many benefits with that it really makes a difference

Bard is probably the second strongest class in the game after Sorcerer. Seriously so strong and the band of the mystic scoundrel just makes it crazy

how to gain shield proficiency? dueling does not give you that and you never took a feat for getting it as well. i am in honour mode ruleset.

Half elf or human gives the proficiency, or starting as a fighter/paladin

This is strong but imo SBard 8 wiz 1 and sorcerer 3 is a bit stronger. You get access to 3 meta magics and every spell

Also 10 Lore Bard 1 Wizard 1 Tempest Cleric, War or Life Cleric also works. Heavy armor and shield proficiency helps a lot + Guidance cantrip

Yeah being a full caster is awesome. I also enjoy the 1 level wizard and tempest dips they are really strong. I just always have a sorcerer myself for twin haste so I don’t mix it in

Waiting for level 10 with lvl4 spells DONT take command… get this at lvl 4 or 5 and replace some other spell like sleep
