There's about two dozen people who've come in this week looking to group or talk Tarkov, and I'm hoping it only grows further from there. I changed my binds a few days ago and tbh, even though they're mainly double clicks, I like them and they're easy as hell to use. Lean Left/Right is my mouse side buttons, E is interact, F and double click F is check ammo/chamber, R and double click R is reload/quick reload, T and double click T is the scope stuffs, Q and double click Q is tactical stuffs, B and double click B is fire mode stuffs, crouch is Left Ctrl, Prone is Z... Also unbinded the smooth leans because I don't really see a point in them tbh. But yeah, easy to learn and easy to use. I totally get why somebody would change them to gain that extra 0.3 seconds but I'm still learning the game as well, I'll probably change them in the future when I'm not a pleb at this game. Also, that's a nice tip with the O on release, hadn't though of that! Thanks!

Lean Left = `E` Lean Right = `Q` Whether or not you use Hold or Toggle think about it, do the motion on your keyboard.
@Gambet5 жыл бұрын
I've known people who reverse it like that. They claim it helps them strafe into their lean better, and I can see why, but I absolutely could not get used to that. Doesn't toggling negate the benefit of that though? Cuz once both your fingers are freed up you can strafe in either direction equally well regardless of which way you're leaning. If you use Hold, you can only strafe in one direction easily, the other direction (regardless of which way you keybind) will always be slightly cumbersome, yeah? Or am I missing something?
@able165 жыл бұрын
@@Gambet If you're going to lean right, you're probably peeking right -- so you're already holding or stutter-stepping `D`, never have to let your finger off the key at a critical moment. Which leaves your ring finger free for `Q` = Right Lean. If you toggle lean, it just gives you options to stutter-step left right while leaning. I use lean hold because it gives me the opportunity to stutter-lean only exposing inches while gathering information. Additionally if I need to move LEFT afterwards, I have no reason to be LEANING RIGHT so my ring finger can go back to `A`. That transition is the only delay with this setup though. I'm an old-school Counter-strike player since its beta days so my gameplay is based on making quick snappy movements. Being stuck in a position having to toggle on/off slows you down, similar to your reload/change scopes/magnification reasoning. I'd love to be able to quick peek vertically with crouch but that's limited within the game having an animation. Same with shift left/right, it's more like a slide and really slow.

I hate not being able to use left shift for this like switching scopes and holding your breath. I liked your idea of cutting back on all the left alt usage. It's definitely awkward. I guess they set it up that way incase someone didn't have side mouse buttons, but if you do, bind them in this game for sure.
@Gambet5 жыл бұрын
You can still use shift for hold Breath, you just have to be careful not to be moving forward when you want to hold your breath. Too risky IMO, but you might not make that mistake as much as I tend to do.

Just picked up a Razer Tartarus pro... learning to use it, hopefully these keybinds can help. So far so good. Best thing is, it has linear key movement with dual actuation points, so all the way down = a secondary key function. Haven't used it just yet, so we'll see how it turns out. Was thinking it'd be amazing if I could bind the linear key movement (acts like a joystick, can harder press = more movement) to walk speed, so half press = half movement, full press = full movement, and full actuation = sprint. Might take soem getting used to.

This may seem like a dumb question but how exactly do you set those keybinds? Do you use both key fields or are you pressing both buttons when you opt to change something cause all I'm getting is one of the keys I push as the command rather than two if that makes sense?
@Gambet4 жыл бұрын
If you mean like, Alt + R or something, you just need to hold down the Alt key and then push R. You only use one of the fields. The second is in case you want multiple ways of firing off a command, like maybe the Up arrow or W to move forward, for instance.
@MattinhoGG4 жыл бұрын
@@Gambet Weird. I've tried that and all I get is the first key I push. Regardless if I'm holding. I'll give it another try but thanks for the reply anyway man!
@Gambet4 жыл бұрын
That's very strange. Try it with alternative keys to see if it doesn't work at all. If you're trying to do a thumb button thing, sometimes not installing the mouse drivers can prevent games from recognizing buttons that aren't the standard left/right/middle. I'm just spit balling though.
@nickaguado73 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to key most of the multi key binds to middle mouse wheel + whatever else? Like you I don't like doing finger gymnastics and to me using middle wheel press as a bind seems logical instead of using ctrl + or alt +..... Check chamber - MMW + C (stands for chamber) Check Magazine - MMW + M ( stands for magazine) Check fire mode - MMW + F (stands for fire mode) Grenade - F (stands for frag) Also, I bind my leans to the thumb buttons on mice. You can move and lean at the same time very efficiently. Smooth lean would be alt + mouse thumb button. run - shift prone - z crouch - x interact - e caps - walk is good. always have used caps for walking. overhead fire - ctrl + LMB right side fire - alt + LMB since alt is to the right of ctrl. side step right - MMB + D side step left - MMB + A As you can see, using the middle mouse button as much as you can allows you to do things fast and efficiently. All you have to do is do one key with your left hand.

Love the key bindings thank you! i'm super new to this game, and I had already hated how the controls were. This makes it soooooo much better man!!! My two cents: Really small thing, but the way you bound blind fires feels backwards. I chose to go with Ctrl+RMB for overhead and Alt+RMB for right side blind fire because Alt is to the right of Ctrl, so it just makes it easier and more natural to use Ctrl for above and Alt for right side. Maybe that will work for someone else too or make more sense, similar to how the step out and precise lean commands require a logical rework.

love the idea for the blindfires - def changing mine to that! Edit: I'm using a Logitech G502 Hero as well. Thanks for the video. I've been struggling with this for a while. I'm a "hold to ADS" player but using CTRL+RMB to switch zoom takes me out of ADS. My only question is how to do you set the keybinds to "Mouse 3 and Mouse 4". I have the Logitech Hub, but it wants me to assign the thumb buttons in the hub, so say the square thumb button is set to "CTRL" and then in-game I have to set the thumb button to whatever I want ctrl to be used for. Should I leave the keys blank in the Logitech Hub and just set the thumb and 4 buttons within Tarkoff instead? Aside from stutter, this is one of my biggest gripes about Tarkov.
@Gambet4 жыл бұрын

I have to be honest... Despite loving many aspects of EFT massively, I feel like the devs are stubborn, with strange vision to say the least. They claim to want to make this hyper realistic game, which is great and in many ways they have achieved it, but they just ignore that MO at random, whenever they feel like it. They literally have dynamically adaptive sensitivity to accurately depict movement, something which to my knowledge is virtually unheard of in a computer game, and while being annoying is a very clever way to level the playing feild of human mechanical mouse abilities. But then they allow high level players to carry around fantasy surgical and medical kits that can apparently heal 10 bullet wounds in each limb in approximately 3 minutes. Aaaaaaaaaand then you have to load individual bullets into your individual magazines in human real time - straight back into hyper realism... Wait someone is shooting at me, let me just vault this wall here. Eeeeeeeeerm... Dudes, get the fuck out of here - either make a simulator or make a game, imho they should quit with this halfway house BS. They claim to be focusing on getting the ground work right, but if that is the case then why the hell are we going to see new maps before we see serious improvements to the movement system for example, which is janky to say the least and bettered by PUBG in terms of depth FFS - being able to slow your walk speed down gradually, ooooooooooooh, so original much wow. Can't climb over a fucking fence though. Cool brah. Indeed there needs to be massive improvements to the general stability of the game, which has literally hard crashed my computer more than every other game I have ever owned COMBINED. (I know it's a beta guys, but I want a stable game before I want 10 maps when there are 5/6 great ones already) The devil is in the detail with this game. There is no way Im gonna stop playing it, the pro's still outweigh the cons for me for sure. But I defo have started to question some of their development choices and want to see some fairly significant changes to the base movement and balance of the game in the next 6 months. If we just get more maps and guns and nothing else, I think the new huge player base is going to disapear as quickly as it showed up.
@Gambet4 жыл бұрын
I think your criticisms are reasonable, but my take on it is that you are coming from the modern day world where every game released to Early Access is basically treated as the full game, and the focus is on player enjoyment and tweaking everything to that. The developers meanwhile seem to be treating this like a proper beta from the early 2000s, where they're working on whatever they want to work on, and if there are bugs that hurt the player experience that's okay, because it's just a beta, and the player experience isn't the most important thing right now. So they put it on their list, and they'll get to it before the final release of the game, but that might leave a lot of game-breaking bugs or instability in the game from now until then. Now, I don't necessarily have a problem with either of those strategies, although one point against BSG is that they are charging for this game, which sort of treats it like the modern-day Early Access game, so I understand why player expectations are what they are. That said they have been nothing but clear about where their priorities are, and people can choose to support them right now or wait for the final release, and they don't seem to really mind either way. So, I totally get where you're coming from, and your concerns are valid, but your priorities just aren't lining up with theirs. And that's okay, IMO. Maybe not in yours, though, haha. Now, one little piece of food for thought for you. Right now BSG are treating this game like an absolute passion project, and their love for the game is so clear with every update. IMO, I'd rather they keep developing the big stuff in the game while they still have all this excitement and passion, rather than getting stuck in the weeds of maintenance and maybe getting burned out. You might disagree with that, and that's cool. I want all the bugs to get fixed too, but as it is, the game is far more playable than most pre-release games in its current state, so I'm okay with whatever they gotta do to keep this gravy train rolling. Just my two cents.
@shogunai4 жыл бұрын
@@Gambet Yeah man I totally see what you are saying, but I'm honestly not coming to it from an expectation of a released game - I know a little about game dev and pipelines etc, and the fact they are a small passioante team is fantastic, admirable and they deserve the support 100%. I just feel like once your game reaches a certain level of hype, and lets be honest, makes a certain amount of money, (not saying they haven't invested themselves and don't deserve it btw), you're priorities should perhaps be looked at? Again, Im not expecting a finished game anytime soon, all I was meaning was I feel like the order they are going about things is quite strange to me. At the end of the day my points about things like vaulting movements and healing etc are legitimate choices and I was only really giving my opinion about those, but the content over stability one will never fly with me tbh. A game developers focus, imho, should first and foremost always be on player experience, otherwise it is just a vanity project and you shouldn't be charging money for it tbh. Certainly not AAA title money in betas. Anyways, rant over lol. Im gonna get back into Tark lmao!! Love your content bro, looking forward to your future vids.

They want a realistic game but, at certain points, realism just ruins the gameplay. Nobody wants to spend 10 minutes healing. Nobody wants to go have to take a piss/shit. Nobody wants to have to replace their shoes, clothes, etc every certain amount of raids. It's ridiculous to expect everything to be perfectly realistic.

@Gambet5 жыл бұрын
Hard disagree with your conclusion, dude, but not your premise. I fully agree that it's meant to be a feature of the game, to prevent anyone from getting too comfortable with their aim, to help level the playing field and even the raw mechanical skill gap of most first person shooters, and to help give consequences to the choice of putting on heavier armor. I am a fan of the philosophy of all of this, and think it's a really cool idea. However, it is just a fact that it is not fairly or equally implemented, and is one of the weakest mechanics of the game. I trust that you would not consider it cheating for a player who always uses high sensitivity in FPS games to use high sens in Tarkov, correct? If so, then it's just a fact that that guy is going to be dramatically less effected by this game mechanic than a low sens player. I know a guy who plays on 3000 DPI with an in game sens of 50. Put the highest powered scope in the game in his hand and he can still do a full 360 with a single swipe of the mouse. I use a DPI of 1500 and an in game sense of 0.1. Put the same scope in my hands and I will have to do about a dozen 20 inch mouse swipes to do the same 360 spin. There is no reality in which that is fair, realistic, or the intention of the devs, to have such a massive disparity between players. It's a great concept for a game mechanic, that is poorly implemented. My suggestions by the way do not in any way stop the penalties from using scopes or wearing heavy armor. You still feel them severely, more so as a low sens player. The best that my recommendations do is make the game playable, where otherwise you would just be at such a massive disadvantage against high sens players that you would rarely survive a gunfight with them.

Not looking to fight with you endlessly about this, I'm just trying to make my point clear so you can see where I'm coming from. If you're a low sens player in Tarkov, Tarkov punishes you for it in a way it doesn't punish high sens players. If Tarkov somehow forced a specific DPI/Sens on you and you absolutely couldn't change it, I'd have zero issue with it, and wouldn't be looking for a way around it, because the playing field would already be balanced.
