I've got a good tip to separate a bulb of garlic and peel the cloves. You put the whole bulb in a jar with a lid on and shake it vigorously and it's like magic it separates the bulb and peels the cloves 😊

Soaking the garlic for a few minutes definitely helps peeling. I'll give this a go next time I need some garlic!

970g is basically a whole chicken since they are about 1kg with bones. the seasoning and prep probably worth over a raw chicken

Best way to do the garlic for that is grate it into a bowl big pinch of salt & sugar mix in bowl let sit for 15 min & mix in mayonnaise 👍👍 Great vid cheers 👍👍🙏

Hey BFG, first; hope you & yours have a Very Merry Christmas, good to see that you’ve just about recovered:) Garlic Mayo; in regards to your garlic, you mentioned about ‘mashing’ it, thats fine, but just before you ‘mash’ sprinkle a little salt on the garlic, it helps draw the oils out and you get a better paste. Speaking of garlic do you use the Taj frozen crushed garlic available at ASDA and Morrisons. They save a lot of messing about and are great as extra garlic topping spread on garlic bread. I use it in all kinds.

That looked really nice but live on me own now since wife passed away and kids left home to much for one .Might give it ago still after Xmas. but be worried about eating the lot in one go lol big enough as it is. Here is a heads up for you Aldi have got a specially selected chutney in. Tomato and Chilli made with roasted birds eye chillies just tried it with a steak had to put lid on quick and put away its that nice be great with cold meats and cheese over Xmas Merry Christmas to you all

Well I succumbed whilst in Aldi this morning - went for the butter chicken version as my stomach isn't as strong as it used to be! Can always add a bit of green tabasco if it needs livening up! Its a good solid lump of a pack though - should do 3 meals at least.😀

Hello mate, if you add half a teaspoon salt to your chopped garlic, you can crush it into a paste against the chopping board with the flat bit of your knife quite easily. Makes for a smoother sauce, unless you like the bit's!

Great review as always Gareth, we buy a similar thing from Farm Foods, they have a spicy Turkish one and a Greek gyros. Good tip is to take them out of the foil container and put them in a shallow roasting dish, spread them out on it and it cooks much faster. Gareth. They use those Lebanese Flat Breads for donner kebabs in Australia. They wrap the kebab then toast in a sandwich press. Outside of Berlin they are best kebabs I have ever had.

@@kingpin2psn Finally got round to eating the butter chicken kebab. Its all thigh meat, no breast but that suits me. I did have to pour out the juices and fat about 20mins from to end so it could crisp up. Nice flavour, no spices so I ate with green tabasco. I'm having it as 3 portions. I'll give the spicey one a go at some point.

I tried this when you put this up a couple of weeks ago, what great value for money, as I was the only one going to eat it I divided it into 3 good size portions, although I loved it I found it a bit to too hot for me, so before I cooked the next two I rubbed coconut milk into the marinade of one & pasata into the other… worked a treat 👊

Got a bit of catching up to do. Just got home after a week in ICU. I went into hospital with severe abdominal pain and was told I would need keyhole surgery and could come home the next day. When I finally came around I was on a ventilator and tubes up my nasal passages, 2 catheters, a tube in my neck and 4 in my arms. A bit of a shock I can tell you. But the doctors were great, the ICU staff were great. My neighbours were great for looking after my dog and cat, ( which I think has been catnapped by my neighbour). So my Xmas plans are up the shoot. So I plan to have my neighbours for Xmas dinner on Jan 1st instead. This Kebab meal looked great, but spicy food is out for the time being. Still I hope all you Baldie fans have a great Xmas 🧑🏾‍🎄🧑🏾‍🎄👍🏻👍🏻.

Easy way to peel garlic - drop the unpeeled cloves in a cup of hot water for a minute then just squeeze them to pop the clove out.
