Best Team: Eeveelution Edition

So if you all haven’t noticed by now, I’m a huge Eeveelution fan. Obviously I love Umbreon the most, as it is my mascot, but I do have so much love for the rest of them as well. I’m also sure that you’ve noticed that the channel has gotten a bit of a rebrand to include Eevee and all of its evolutions into my banner and background. I just felt the channel needed a nice refresh since it had been a couple years since my last one. This all made me think “What could I do to ease everyone into the new look for the channel?”; and the answer was obvious. Naturally I had to make this an eeveelution week. That’s right, this entire week will have nothing but eeveelution based videos for my fellow Eeveelution connoisseurs; and to kick it off, I am going to be ranking all of the eeveelutions from Weakest to Strongest. Now when doing these rankings, there will definitely be a little bit of influence based on how the eeveelutions have performed in the past, but we will be mostly focusing on how they are at this point in time. I definitely think there will be some surprises for a lot of you in this video, so with that being said let’s just hop right in.

People who use Flareon over Leafeon are clowns. Leafeon is by far better than Flareon and honestly this gen probably better than Jolteon. Jolteon has speed but that’s it. It’s spatk doesn’t guarantee a KO even with life orb and unlike Leafeon it can’t tank a hit. Leafeon has good enough speed with a massive atk stat and pretty good defensive stat. For an eveelution team it’s probably one of your best options for dynamaxing

All Eeveelution's types ((Except Sylveon)) were all special before Gen 4, the only type that was purely special, AND wasn't turned into an Eeveelution was the Dragon type.

Lockstin & Gnoggin has a theory that we might not get more eeveelutions. And that's because the types left are mainly physical attackers, and they're designed to be more special attackers in general. So things like, say, fighting type wouldn't really fit. That's not to say I wouldn't like to see another eeveelution, but I'd say it's somewhat unlikely for that to happen.

Great team! But I would make 1 change: I wouldn't use Choice Specs on Espeon, since it would REALLY suck to switch out if you're suddenly up against a Dark type. I'd just give it Leftovers or Focus Sash or something.

Guessing before watching: Umbreon (obviously 😬😆 but also high defenses), Vaporeon (high HP, good coverage and move pool), Jolteon (Bolt-Ice combo, good speed, and Thunderwave), Sylveon (it’s cute af 😍 but also coverage for Dragon and Fighting types), Espeon (good speed/Sp.ATK and access to great status moves), Leafeon (high ATK and DEF, Swords Dance, immune to powder/spore moves, and, if in sunlight, immune to poison, sleep, freeze, and burn).

leafeon is really op in sunny day so I use it but here’s what I use on leafeon adamant nature, chlorophyll ability and life orb 252+ in attack 252 in hp 4 in special defense (no speed since your not gonna really outspeed anything without sunny day, are you?) If you want your Umbreon to toxic stall in Gen 8, it is actually possible, though it requires you to have the capability of transferring Pokemon between Gen 7 and Gen 8, as Umbreon was able to learn Toxic in Alola.

Funny; I did an Evveelution run in Ultra Moon not too long ago. Umbreon as a wall, Flareon and Leafeon for Physical Attack and Defense, Vaporeon, Slyveon and Jolteon rounding out the team; although my Jolteon had Hidden Power Ground + Volt Absorb to handle other electric types.

My team Sylveon (It’s an adorable sweeper and it sure lasts long, plus it’s my favourite eeveelution and Pokémon) Umbreon (Umbreon’s a natural tank, it’s really good. Mine knows confuse ray which is super useful. I love umbreon a lot!) Jolteon (Jolteon is REALLY good. I managed to KO two steel types (Aegislash and another steel type, I don’t remember) in one shot in a double battle using discharge. Jolteon is really fast too and I’ve used it a lot. It’s good!)

Dang it, you stole the ideas I didn't write down anywhere D< Haha. Although I chose to use Flareon because I love him...but his primary role on the team is to (hopefully) manage to take out any Dark types that come his way with Superpower. I opted for Fire Spin instead of Fire Fang, however, in order to prevent a Dark type from switching out on me for any reason. Because of that, I opted out of the Choice Band and instead went for the Toxic Orb to guarantee the Guts boost. But then I also went with Baton Pass instead of Body Slam. Also instead of Umbreon, I opted for Leafeon. Leafeon's ability to use Swords Dance and Baton Pass, as well as its physical bulkiness, allows it to aide Flareon in his role. The idea is that if I can get in Flareon after I use Jolteon for Agility and Swords Dance from Leafeon, he can do a pretty good job. And then once Flareon's job is done, or if he's in a fight he doesn't want a part in, he can Baton Pass and nope right out of there for someone else to handle the job without disrupting the flow of things too much.

Whenever I play pokemon, I've always gone with offensive movesets, I've never liked using defensive moves. My standard team also consists of a Fire-type, Water-type, Electric-type, Grass-type and the final two being depending on which game I play. For Sword and Shield it was a Fairy-type, and Fighting-type. Since there are no Fighting-type eeveelution, I decided to go with Espeon for that slot. I found that Psychic-types are more useful in Gen 8 than Dark or Ice. My team's movesets are: Flareon - Lava Plume, Mystical Fire, Bite, Fire Fang Vaporeon - Dig, Aurora Beam, Scald, Liquidation Jolteon - Discharge, Dig, Bite, Thunder Fang Leafeon - Dig, Giga Drain, Leaf Blade, X-Scissor Sylveon - Mystical Fire, Magical Leaf, Moonblast, Bite Espeon - Psychic, Bite, Expanding Force, Psybeam Umbreon - Dark Pulse, Bite, Dig, Assurance Glaceon - Freeze-Dry, Dig, Bite, Ice Fang

I usually play ranked mode, don't really do smogon stuff that often, except if I'm trying to test out a set before I dedicate time to making the pokemon. so here is my Ranked Mode Flareon. Jolly Nature, 252 Speed, 252 Attack Ability: Flash Fire (When I switch it into a fire attack I love the feeling of my opponents hope draining away) Item: Sitrus Bary/LifeOrb/Fire Plate (Based on what items1 are already taken by other team members) Moveset: Flame Charge, Flareblitz, Iron Tail, Baton Pass.

Slyveon and Espeon go together very well. Espeon covers Slyveon's poison weakness, and Slyveon covers Espeon's Dark weakness, while they double down on fighting. Also Slyveon is immune to dragons and hits for 2x effectiveness. Overall, Espeon and Slyveon would go together well in doubles.

Flareon is a tactical nuke really blows shit up but only when played at the right time due to being slow. Once I had a team with prankster Sableye and choice band guts flareon and turn 1 I would toxic flareon and then spam flame charge. My flareon set 252 Atk 252 speed 4 hp jolly nature -flare blitz -superpower -return - flame charge With guts and a choice band.

Really cool team, but did I miss the Rental Code? Given that Eevees have that unfortunate 12.5% gender ratio, it would be much easier to use this team via rental than assembling six pokemon for, at most, a couple days of casual battles.

I think this strategy has one important weakness: Flareon is the second pokemon and it may not survive a stealth rock doubled damage plus being outspeeded and strongly attacked combo.

Sorry to say it, but only dragon type is better. Eevee can only evolve into the types that were special, and dragon was one of them

Yeah the "just deal with the dark mon before you finish setting up" ignores the high likelihood of that dark pokemon being a dynamaxed Tyranitar. Grimmsnarl and Obstagoon are also pretty common this generation on the ranked ladder.
