Hi and thank you for this beautiful clip. I went to Thailand, Koh Samui, Chaweng 3 months before your clip was uploaded. I think that the information about taxi meter was good. I´ve traveled with taxi through Phuket but if you have a local Thai with you it won´t bring any problem because of language and Thai don´t cheat another Thai easily. Thank you once again.

We stayed at Choeng Mon when we were in Koh Samui. It was beautiful. The beach restaurants there were all really great. The beach bungalows there were very well priced, and the small main street was well equipped with nice restaurants too. You'll really enjoy travelling around the island I'm sure. Have a great time. Have you ever been to Thailand? It is so hot that exercise for me at least, was just walking, swimming and yoga. On the cleanse you drink shakes, take supplements and conduct colemas twice a day. After ten days, you feel so light and wonderful, and want to eat only healhty fruits and veggies for a while. I see you ask a lot of questions about this location, and one thing to keep in mind is, you have to adapt to what is available rather than long for your typical comforts of home.

Just research everything! Pick a country, look up it's weather, activities, sites of interest, culture, price range, security, cuisine etc and see if you really want to go there. Once you've decided, choose a time schedule and budget. Will it be a long weekend to Rome or backpacking two months in Indonesia? Then, look up flights, hotel prices, ways of getting around etc. You can use travel guides, blogs, the UNESCO World Heritage list or whatever goes to form a decision.

If you want a health spa experience, the Spa at Samui is great. That's what it's called The Spa at Samui. I did a ten day cleanse there.

I stayed at the Lamai Bay View Resort in 1993 for $6 a night. Most bungalows in Lamai were about that price then.

Hi there! My Husband and I are planning to visit Koh Samui for about 5-6 days in June 2014. Just wanted to ask you how's the place. Loved the video, but if you could suggest some activities and give some tips. I'm already doing my research, but it's always great to hear from people who've actually visited the place! Also, in which month did you visit Samui? Was the fan bungalow cool enough or did you guys switch to an AC room? The resort looks great but just wanted to know if fan is going to be too hot in June! Also, have you had any 'train-journey' experience in Thailand? If yes, then please share your experience. Ha the scene with the plan flying over reminded me of living in spreckelsville. This was in the early 90's when my mom owned a plantation house. Now sadly they are all rentals. They were supposed to make the runway longer that's why the state kicked us out lol. Good riddance though, don't miss the centipedes that fell from my ceiling when it rained ;)

Nice video. You shot some great views. I think you got charged more on your taxi ride from Chaweng to Lamai (300 Baht) than from the pier (not sure if you came in at Nathon or Lipa Noi/Raja Ferry) to Chaweng @ 400 Baht, because Chaweng is closer to Lamai than Nathon/Lipa Noi to Chaweng, meaning for 400 Baht you went a lot further than for 300 Baht. I love Samui, but avoid the taxis/songthaews. Find a local to give you a ride, easy to negotiate and the price is better. We do it all the time.
