The best Thailand visa, and newest visa for Thailand in 2024, is the DTV visa, the Destination Thailand Visa. It is also known as the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa. But it is for others too, like those coming for extended periods for art and cuisine, education (other than the ED visa), Muay Thai, medical treatment and more.
Also covered in the video is the new 60-day Thailand visa-free entry (also known as the Thailand visa waiver and Thailand visa exemption and visa free entry). It was previously only 30 days for most countries. This is great news. So this covers the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada and many other countries. In fact 93 countries are now covered up from 57. Be aware, however that after posting this video, the Thai government announced (again!) delays in starting the 60 day period. So it is coming but we don't know exactly when. Same with the DTV visa. Coming but not immediately, as was originally announced.
The DTV visa is for a 180-day stay in Thailand anytime within a 5-year period after obtaining the visa. You can also request a one-time extension of an ADDITIONAL 180 days. This would give you almost a full year in the kingdom of Thailand. It also extends to certain dependents. The cost is low and the benefits are high. The fee is only 10,000 baht (about $275 US). There is the same 10,000 baht fee if someone wishes to invoke the one-time 180-day extension). The Thai DTV visa appears to be a great visa designed to boost tourism, and stay almost one year without the hassles of visa waiver extensions and border runs, etc.
The only significant requirement of the Thailand digital nomal DTV visa is to have 500,000 baht (about $13,675 US) available to you to make sure you are financially capable and independent while in Thailand. Details are still coming out as this video is based on the Thai government's news release in advance of the visa's actual release (stated to be June 1, 2024), but one would guess there will also be some requirement for those under the Digital Nomad category to show proof of verified employment.
