This EP is definitely for music nerds. Ive listened to the whole thing front to back multiple times. Definitely one of those that takes multiple playthroughs.
@KosmicNomad7 ай бұрын
Idk why people keep saying that. I'm a pretty casual listener (don't play any instruments) and I really enjoyed this EP. I usually can't get into instrumental music (except game soundtracks lol) at all no matter how good it is, but I've had this on repeat since it came out
@saishashanka99077 ай бұрын
@@KosmicNomad Because most people will look at you funny even if you played a somewhat more obscure Slipknot or BMTH track, let alone something from bands like Opeth and TesseracT. And just forget about even trying to play stuff like this or Vildhjarta/HLB and such stuff.

Oslo the best track from whole EP. I like those classic elements, like piano for example. Those pitch shifted noises are sometimes a bit annoying, but I must give them credit for that production, it’s just crystal clear. This is one of those rare moment when I can fully appreciate my KRK monitors.

I feel like this album, as someone who just found Thall, despite loving Deathcore. This sounds like if metal musicians heard Dubstep for the first time, and were like. Huh, yeah we can do that with our instruments, we don't need synthesizer tables.

It's funny how most people will come to Mare via bands that feature in those almost endless 'best breakdowns' videos. There seems to be a truckload of what ever that genre is and I find that only 10% actually sound like they have something interesting to say (in a musical sense). Whereas my way in was via IDM and breakcore, Mare to me sounds like something that can easily sit alongside Whourkr and Igorrr. It's a cracking album, but it's not come out of nowhere.

I think what you were trying to say is that the listenability of this music is non-existent, this is not something you throw on in the background or listen to for practical reasons like feeling certain emotions or an atmosphere or anything like that. This is more like admiring a piece of art, you listen to it to transform your understanding of the world & yourself as it dredges up parts of music you never realized existed before. It's uncomfortable by design, change is scary.
