So quick update. After purchasing my Six Flags Gold Pass Plus. I got an email later on saying “Welcome To The Six Flags Membership Program”. I was confused at first because the website says this is a “Gold Plus Season Pass” not a membership. I’ll try to get more of the scoop as I got like 4 emails from Six Flags today lol.

The email I got says to go to the membership line to take a picture and when I was making the purchase it said to go in the season pass line.

You dont need a black friday special to purchase a cedar fair platinum pass you either purchase your 2022 pass when the park is still open and get a used day ticket with the highest purchase price you can find and use it for the ticket to season pass upgrade which can be done to either a gold or platinum pass ..or purchase your platinum pass the canadas wonderland with all the platinum addons and take advantage of the exchange rate discount

Cedar Fair always does their best prices/sales when passes are first available. This is no surprise or different than normal.

@@melissab0515 OK, I have had passes to all the chains for many years. For future reference regarding Cedar Fair when they first reveal the new passes in August that's the best it's ever going to be. That best sale price lasts usually to right after Labor day sometimes thru mid September , Price go up & that price holds thru the end of Halloween events . After Halloween events prices go up again & that price usually holds till right before parks open or the beginning of the season, Prices will go up again as parks open. The sales you may see from Cedar Fair from the off season now are for things like single day Fast Lane or single day tickets. They may also run discounts on resort/hotel stays

There is usually a Xmas deal, but SF marketing is not normal this year. They didn't do an initial sale in August/Sept & they started at higher prices & have been dropping. Normally the initial price is the best & the other sales are good, but not as good. it;s hard to know what will happen as they just got a new CEO 2 weeks ago & the old CEO was trying to change the pricing..ie...base pass don't get you into every park & they increased pass dining plans by about $25

It would cost more for us Chicago people to drive to St. Louis then to just pay the extra 15 bucks. And having sfgam as my home park the skip the line passes help.

I just bought a Ceder fair pass back in August and it’s about paid off. Been to Carowinds, Ceder point and kings island.

Great tips about the Six Flags passes, I didn't realize they changed it to where only the higher up season passes get admission to all parks. Seems like I'll have to fork over the money for it

The Best time to buy Cedar Fair passes is gone, Their best prices are always during the initial sale when they go on sale for the next year. Cedar Fair has been raising prices since,,ie,,,Platinum's are now $202 & CP Gold passes went from $99 to $129. Other parks have increased gold passes by $10 or more , as well as meal plans, they even increased the season drink plan by $2, something they have never done in the past from the initial price for a season

Yep I ended up paying almost $30 more per pass for the gold pass cause I didn't purchase it during Labor Day weekend sale. The Platinum didn't go up as much to get the free parking every visit.

My park is Magic Mountain, but they're price gouging and making the offer $90. So to clarify, I could buy the pass for another park but I would have to show up in person there before I gain access to other parks?

Yes, that's the way passes always work or people in the past would just buy passes at parks like ST Louis where it used to be $55 &get access to all parks in the chain. SF could solve the issue of processing at home park first if they used the same prices for all passes that give you access to all parks like Cedar Fair, SF Home park only access could be still priced individually.

@@grobble8954 Ran into some confusion with this one myself. My home park is Hurricane Harbor, but they're not open until March. I contacted customer support, and despite what the policy seems to be as stated on the ticket, they seemed to suggest that I would be able to get access to all parks prior to hurricane harbor opening up. Hoping that's true as I already bought the pass through hurricane harbor

@@TheMias24 I think they view buying at Hurricane Harbor as if you bought at SFMM, So if you go to MM they will do all the processing needed on you next visit to activate the Gold PLus pass which they are labeling as membership during the Cyber Sale deal.

50 dollars for a whole season of six flags compared to 150 British pounds or 200 dollars for uk merlin attractions which is comparable to cedar fairs 200 doller one

Think it's complete BS that they did not offer the Gold Plus pass like they normally do. There were a bunch of people who either changed to memberships or just bought the regular Gold Pass because that was the only option at the time. Just seems like a slap in the face to the people who already bought passes on their advertised lowest price of the year sale in Labor Day.

Six Flags didn't really say it was the lowest price of the year or the best deal/benefits. There was no big sale like in the past that coincided with new ride announcement video b/c Spanos killed the video. In fact, since the base passes were made available for 2022 the prices have been slowly going down. They were originally $70 or $80 for most parks, MM was $100. Since August the prices have been cut by $15-$20 & now they are offering the upgrade . They didn't offer the Gold Plus like normal b/c SF was trying to put a premium on having access to all parks, thus the base pass was only for your 'home park. SF was trying to be like other chains Sea World & Cedar Fair that make you buy a higher cost product to get into all parks. It's actually wise by SF, but poorly executed as they have partially reverted with this new deal . For some reason SF is only offering multi tiered passes with the same benefits as memberships G+, Platinum, Diamond, Diamond elite only at Over Texas, Fiesta Texas & Great Adventure

@@DestinationThrills They will let you upgrade , but to a membership probably, They aren't likely going to give you a cheaper price, that would be bad business. The extra perks have always been fluid depending on when you bought....ie...free drink bottles or with dining plans a free upgrade to premium.
