The Whizzer. It gives you a reckless feeling zooming through the woods (probably feels a lot quicker than it is but still!), and there is something so special about being able to sit in someone's lap too.

Night rides on Whizzer used to be one of the best experiences you could have in the park, but when they built Maxx Force and added all the lights it ruined that experience. I will always cherish my memories of that, and Whizzer IS still a good ride even without that. Also a historic one- one of the last spiral-lift Schwartzkopfs in existence. Ragin Bull was better before they added the trim brake on the first airtime hill, but it's still a BEAST AND A HALF today. I also rank Goliath at the top, and Bull as a VERY CLOSE number 2. Both spectacular rides.

Raging Bull is just so smooth but so fun. Even the back part of the ride with the spirals and the little hill drops is just amazing to me. My fav. part is when the cars all turn sideways, I think on the 3rd hill especially if you're riding on the left side of the train. Overall, this is my favorite coaster at Six Flags Great America

Goliaths very first drop is seriously intense and struck a moment of fear which honestly, only added to the adrenaline and excitement. That’s why it’s my favorite

I've never cried from watching a video about roller coasters before. Grew up going to Great America. Your review on American Eagle was spot on. It's on its last legs, back when it used to run both sides but now it's barely operating one cart. It'll be sad when it goes, but enjoying the moment while I can.

Vertical velocity is very underrated, there is never a line and when in the front row it feels so much faster than it is because you fly past the ride queue

My number 1 is Raging Bull. Because when I visited in 2014, the park was so disgustingly busy that that was the only ride we got on. I’m glad that if it had to be one though, that it was that one.

I feel the OG Batman is my favorite inverted coaster. I feel it’s more forceful than even Raptor. Just whips you around but isn’t rough. Great ride.

My list is 1 Raging bull - only the back row gives good airtime 2 Goliath - that first section is one of my favorites in the world 3 Viper - there is no dull moment 4 Superman - it offers an amazing first drop and a great positive G moment 5 Max Force - the first launch is amazing but it’s very short 6 X flight - the near misses and first drop are great but the seat is bad 7 Batman - an all around intense ride but a bit uncomfortable 8 American Eagle - it offers an overall solid experience 9 Dark Knight - great theming and amazing airtime but too long of a line 10 Whizzer - as my first ride it’s just a classic 11 Demon the first part is great but the whiplash hurts for days 12 joker - the 4d layout makes me very uncomfortable and is overhyped 13 vertical velocity - the rides G’s are very overhyped and is too long of a line 14 Little Dipper - solid family coaster 15 sprocket rockets - solid family coaster

I haven't lived near Great America in 15+ years and I was surprised that so many rides from my childhood and teen years (late 80s through early 2000s) were still there. Whizzer was my first roller coaster at 7, American Eagle will always be tops in my mind, and Demon/Viper are still memorable for me.

Oh, my home park, I haven't been in years! Hell, Maxx force wasn't even around last time I went. I agree with the list, although the extreme pain Demon gave me every time I rode it always kept me away. And thank you for giving Viper the recognition it deserves, a very good first coaster to go in IMO!

America Eagle held the drop record from 1981 when it opened until 1988; the longest held in the coaster wars from 1978 until 2005 and the last wooden coaster to hold the drop record before metal took over in 1988. My top 5 are 5: Batman: 4: Maxx Force; 3: X Flight; 2: Goliath; 1 Raging Bull, all back car rides except Maxx Force.

Raging Bull is a wild concept, the design is to feel like a bullrider , and man is it tough to keep your hands off the waist only seatbelt mechanism. Absolutely wild, one of my favorites. But Superman has and always will be my favorite; nothing quite like flying arms forward through the air like that

Mine change slightly from visit to visit, but currently: Raging Bull Goliath Maxx Force Viper Flash Batman Whizzer X Flight (harness starts to suffocate me by the end, or would be higher) Superman American Eagle Demon (first ever "big" coaster, lots of good memories) Joker Dark Knight Even the ones at the bottom are great, and I could easily move them up a few spots depending on how I'm feeling. Lots of quality rides.

I need help😂. I always struggle to get good rides on demon, viper, and American eagle. The corkscrew on demon really hurt my head, and the two wooden coasters have been ruthless to me and it feels like I’m just getting slammed around and I was genuinely in pain. Do you know what I could do to make these rides more enjoyable? Because over recent trips I’ve just skipped out on them.

I remember first riding Batman in 1990 on a middle school trip. It blew my mind! And American Eagle was the first grown-up coaster I ever experienced. I screamed my head off...and ran to get back in line to ride it again.

American Eagle was the tallest roller coaster I'd ever been on the first time I tried it. Also was at night, which made it even scarier. It's the best feeling when you're young and finally do something you've been afraid of for years.

Top 5 5. Flash (V2) - When I went on it, they said “If you are happy and you know clap your hands” and we clapped and then they launched it. The launch is great and the drops are nice 4. Batman - The ride has great loops with G forces on the first loop 3. Maxx Force - The ride is short the launch is not believable 2. Raging Bull - The first drop is so amazing and the loops after that are fun 1. Goliath - It has the scary impact and the loops and turns are insane

As a person who grew up going to Riverview and crying when they closed the park. Six Flags Gurnee was a welcome replacement. Don’t get me wrong, Riverview was awesome in its day. I still enjoy going to six Flags even at my ages. This video really demonstrates the variety of rides that the park offers. Can’t wait to go again, soon!

Raging Bull is undefeated for me. The exciting start and then that agonizing climb, and then the bluff before you plunge downwards… man. And then that brief moment where it feels like it’s going to end, just for it to pull you down one more time. The restraints are peak too - secure enough with handles so people like me who need more security can still feel safe, but also they aren’t over your shoulder, so you can still can some nice airtime. Genius ride.

American Eagle was closed off when I went recently, otherwise I would've loved to ride it. Raging Bull and Demon are both high on my list, the first for its long ride and "fake" drop and the second for its unmatched personality. I was super sad to see the eyes on Demon's tunnel removed but the multiple surprises on it are still so fun. Also, nothing beats listening to the theme song! Goliath is a rough beast (I have bruises to show for it) so I always know to prepare to be jostled around, but Viper is pretty rough as well! Both are intense and worth it (though Goliath's sometimes 3-4 hour lines I have done enough times). Great video!

from someone who worked at six flags Eagle probably will never get torn down and replaced because of where its built and its proximity to the highway if it got taken down the new coaster wouldn't have all the room because Eagle got granfathered in since it was there before the road plus to tear it down they would have to close part of the highway to do so

Growing up near Great America, it wasn't until about freshman year of highschool that i got over my fear of rollercoasters thanks to Raging Bull. As someone that wants the floater airtime the most, I have to say Raging Bull is probably my number one spot alongside Viper or American Eagle as my number 2.. but I still have to give Goliath another shot since only riding it one time. I'll always crave a ride on Batman for it's intesity and nostalgic experience.

1. Raging Bull - First drop, airtime, length, and seats. Don't like brakes 2. Superman - I just like the flying part especially in the front seat, laying on back, and smooth. Too short 3. Goliath - First drop, snappy movements, and intensity. Seats are ok 4. Batman - Inversions, corkscrews, and inverted. 5. X Flight - Wing, near miss, and start. Too short 6. Maxx Force - Launch. Don't like big hill it slows down and the ride is way too short 7. Flash - Everything is good. I like normal roller coasters better though 8. Viper - Hills. Seats are very bad 9. Justice League - Good. Technically not a reollercoaster. 10. Gotham - Fast turns. 11. Joker - I like 4d. Not many spins. 12. American Eagle - Bad seats, very bumpy. 13. Demon - Seats hurt you head. Very rough and bumpy. Bad overall Went on everything at least once. Superman 3 times and raging bull twice. Did not ride whizzer because it was broken. Did not ride kid rides. Theming, age, and looks don't really matter to me as much as the overall ride.

Goliath used to be my fav ride but one time I got stuck on the chainlift and had to be evacuated and I was also In single rider! it scared the crap out of me so I like raging bull better. I agree with your list it is very good and I would mostly agree but I do think that viper and American eagle should be switched.

Agree with you 100% with Goliath being the best roller coaster. Incredible coaster no gaps in thrills from the first drop to the end no slow parts of the ride. Corkscrew after Corkscrew. Fast ride time wise but the best coaster I've ever been on.

Despite having this as my home park i do change around my opinions more often than you’d think. As an example, i used to have American Eagle third in the park but the airtime isn’t as good as it was 2 years ago, so it’s probably around 7th now for me. Anyway, my ranking 1. Raging Bull 2. Goliath (probably Rakshasa soon) 3. Maxx Force 4. Superman 5. Batman 6. American Eagle (which is only this high bc of how good it used to be) 7. X-Flight (same story. Used to be butter smooth, now it’s horribly rough. I think Demon might be smoother) 8. V2 9. Demon 10. Viper 11. Whizzer 12. Joker 13. Dark Knight 14. Spacelys 15. Little Dipper

I really enjoy the Batman appreciation since it seems so underrated. While I probably do have a ton of bias towards it for being what made me love rollercoasters. I always find it to be nothing too insane but it feels so satisfying and fun to go and even just going over that little water section makes it stand out. Although there are more intense rides here which deserve all the hype, I’ve found that I’ve always been more fond of Batman than any other ride and I hope it ages well as I continue to expand my horizons on rollercoasters.

I totally agree! Batman: the Ride is very historic too, so many have that sentimental value attached to the ride. While I do not, I still enjoy it as an amazing yet historic ride. I actually had it even higher on my list last season, although I’m not saying it got worse or I liked it less, but I just grew more fond of the others ranked above this past season.

For me personally, X flight was a bit lackluster. Now I’m not picky with rides. I haven’t been on many. I’ll go on X flight, but I wouldn’t reride it more than once in a day. I would reride Superman. Also I absolutely LOVE Batman! Whenever I go in it, I always get sad how quickly it’s over. I will most definitely reride this. This plus raging Bull. I have yet to ride Goliath, V2, Viper, Demon, Joker, and Maxx Force. I don’t go very often. Maybe once every couple years. I didn’t go on viper or demon out of fear it would screw up my back cus I’ve had issues with it in the past. Goliath had a line way too long each time I’ve went and I’m guilty…I chickened out of V2 a couple of years ago. Joker was being fixed when I went last time and we just didn’t get to maxx force when I went last time. I went with my brother and sister. Aside from Little Dipper and whizzer which I probably went on as a kid with my dad, American Eagle was the first one I went on with friends. I was in 8th grade for the field trip and I remember it being pretty fast and bumpy but I liked it. Didn’t go on it last time tho cus scared of the bumpiness would ruin my back again.

Man it seems like everybody's homepark is great america and i can just wish that it was mine. Sadly I live in a state that lacks rollercoasters and if i ever want to ride new coaster's i have to travel

Went yesterday for my 3rd time and finally went on X-Flight and it was awesome, raging bull would definitely be my #1 but I haven’t been on Goliath yet so I can’t really debate the two, hope I can go back soon and ride all of these.

I have only went once even though it is my home park from the rides I have rode it is a 10/10 I’m hoping to go this summer. My list: 5. Joker 4.American Eagle 3. Wizzer 2.Viper 1.Revolution (Yes I know it is not a coaster) I didn’t get to ride many so I’m sure once I have rode more this will be completely different. When I go next time I hope I get to ride X-flight and Maxx Force. I’m only 11 and I’m not a huge thrill seeker but I do want to do some intense rides so if you have any suggestions please tell me.😃

Wow, that’s awesome! Try to come back this summer, I just visited today and the park was ran pretty well! Work your way up from X-Flight, Batman, and Maxx Force and then afterwards I’m sure you’ll feel confident enough to ride Raging Bull and Golaith, for me I just had to rip that bandaid off right away and I was so glad I made that choice and I’m sure you will too

The demon roller coaster hurt soo bad, my head smashed on the seatbelt on the first loop and got a headache after, my fav is X Flight, really smooth ride unlike the demon, batman was the funniest bc while we were waiting go back to the station after the ride, people were clicking the seatbelt (lifting the seatbelt thing up then letting go to make a click sound) after a while someone said "guys stop it" everyone on the coaster laughed. after a while someone then yelled "SILENCE!!" park rated 4 stars

Personally my Top 3 at SFGAm is: 1. Goliath 2. Maxx Force 3. Raging Bull But Maxx Force and Raging Bull are really close together for me and I have flipped them multiple times.

Random algorithm push but I agree with everything except to flip the top two. Goliath is too short for what it is so the pacing feels off, but absolutely both are killer rides. Maxx force would drop further for me if they keep doing one train operations. Takes FOREVER to get on even on slow park days.

Raging Bull is funner than Goliath… but Goliath is more intense. The drop on Goliath is even better than steel vengeance at cedar point… however SV is still over all a much better ride. Goliath is just too short. So I’d have to go with raging bull as my top ride there. It’s the perfect ride imo. The rest suck imo except American eagle. That’s my third favorite.. front seat is best. Ok viper kinda of good too. So that’s 4th. That’s it.. max force is not worth the wait. Cool launch, but disappoints the rest. Batman makes me feel sick all the time. Superman is ehhh… but why waste my time when I can get on raging bull over and over and not feel like I’m missing something. Superman has one of the slowest moving lines in the whole park.. it’s annoying. V2 makes me feel sick. Wicked twisted at cedar point was much better since it has a longer bottom trek.. so kinda gives rider bit of a retrieve. Never a fan of x flight. Gatekeeper way better. Joker is a joke, I rode it once maybe twice and won’t ride it again. Demon is just torture. F that ride. Whizzer for little kids. Dark knight is worth one ride as a novelty. Honestly, my visits usually consist of riding raging bull, Goliath, and American eagle over and over. Rest of ones I mentioned worth riding, only once.

American eagle is more exciting now that its so rough. Feels like you're going to speed right off the tracks. Knee bashing painful ride for anyone over 6ft. I would like to see a rocky mountain update to it.

Yeah, I think you’re right… it’s really confusing with what UK enthusiasts are saying with Stealth but I wouldn’t be surprised if Maxx Force had a faster acceleration with that punchy launch
