So great to see you had a native black South African as your tour guide! Majority of the white owned tourists companies are employing black immigrants over native/locals

Thank you for giving us a view of your trip, we have 9 provinces (states) all uniquely stunning. They all have a history of how black south Africans were involved in the gight against apartheid, if you travel along you'll be picking how certain people were playing their parts for the struggle. My husband was criss crossing to other provinces eventually he cross the boarder, when he came back he was caught and detained in Robben Island Cape Town and he was released 1994 just before the first democratic elections. We are a country that is still healing loving and deeply rooted in spirituality some of our African brothers and sisters misunderstand us, i think because while they had their past of colonialism it was not the same as us who went through colonialism and apartheid

I always used to hear Joe Slovo's name when I was a kid, when the history of Apartheid was discussed by elders, but I didn't know he was white until I was grown and started really understanding the history of my country

I am a South African living in South Africa. I was 8 years old when Nelson Mandela was released from prison, I was too young to understand apartheid. I used to think that the white soldiers parading our streets were our friends because at random they would throw us sweets and juice powders to eat. I have never heard of June 16 narrated like this before. I paused for a great sob. Now I can understand why our grandmothers and mothers do not want the white people to rule the country. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Racism or Corruption. Great tour guide. Very authentic. Thank you Thabang.

The tour guide has articulated things in the right manner the problem is management, resources are there but corruption and mismanagement is letting us down.

This tour reminds me of the one in Williamsburg Va in the US where the guides give honest assessment and history of the life of the enslaved. This is important as human trafficking is increasing and the US is changing school curricula to promote slavery as a good thing for the Africans. The Rwanda government is proposing policies to move the extremely impoverished to better, modern housing but find that the older population feels a disconnect when they have lost the type of village home and neighborhood they are used to.
