It is much easier when a tourist guide works with his/her own mother tongue.

I'm a tour guide in communa 13, and I do better in English than Spanish, even when my English is not that good!
@ledinhdong77433 жыл бұрын
@@adrianmonsalve4988 There are two kinds of tour guides: 1, Spanish native guide guides Spanish tourists inside Spain: the expectation of tourists for the talking of guides is very high; 2, local Spanish speaking guide ( speaking Spanish as a second language) guide Spanish tourists in a foreign country. For this guide, he/she can hardly speak good Spanish. My point is that if Spanish nationals move to that foreign country and guide Spanish tourists, tourists will like this guide better than the local guide who speak poor Spanish. Also, remember that Europeans learn English much faster than Asians or non Europeans.
@ledinhdong77433 жыл бұрын
@@adrianmonsalve4988 you find working with Spanish harder than English because your Spanish tourists have higher requirement for the talking content details than the English speaking tourists who come from abroad.

@@ledinhdong7743 I do know very well the history of Comuna 13 in Medellin, Colombia, in both languages. I do well in Spanish, but I just get more fun in English, and enjoy a lot more because I'm learning and improving my English. Both Spanish and English tourist always happy and enjoying my tours. I think it's because I don't take this as a job, for me it's a funny thing to do, and I receive money for it.
@adrianmonsalve49883 жыл бұрын
@@ledinhdong7743 now, I think you are wrong, the place you born doesn't have anything to be with your learning. It's the effort you put on it, I started learning English by myself 3 months ago and I'm doing well I guess, I know I still need a lot of practice, but I mean, Europeans, Asian, American, African, we all the same.

With my experience of 10 years in guiding I think she is too articulate at the beginning of the tour. She should start slowly and after 15-20 minutes she can become like this. Because this is just too awkward. But this also depends on the group (if it is only one bus where they know each other or they are strangers. I think its the latter because she asks from which countries they come from). This is just my opinion, in the end every tour guide has his/her own style.
