Both of my late parents worked at the Chatham Bars Inn long before they got married in 1948. You missed the Mayflower Shop where you can get beach supplies, penny candy and magazines to read at the beach. Spent many summers in Chatham. We rented a cottage not far from downtown. I miss the Cape.

My Fave place in the world! The only place you missed is veterans field. Cape cod baseball is amazing! There’s a couple documentaries.. I’m actually in the Chatham experience one in the background!

Cape Cod isn't even a drop in the bucket of US culture and truthfully has no resemblance to the rest of the country. If you find yourself in Boston then go visit but otherwise don't waste your time coming all the way up here to eat a pie and look at the ocean from Cape Cod. As an American who has lived in the USA all my life Cape Cod looks like a retirement town for old people.

Being that I have been to the Cape 20 times since 1977, last year was the first year I spent a week in Chatham. It is a beautiful town, but like you said, it's a summer place. I was there in October and after Columbus Day, it was a ghost town, much to my dismay. I went to Falmouth for the day, and it wasn't overly crowded but it had a lot more going on. Next time I go in fall, I'll probably rent a house close to Falmouth once again. Still, you can't beat the Cape for a nice vacation!

I spent half of my childhood summers there. My grandparents lived there. Band concert every friday night. Chatham wasn't nearly as upscale in the 80s
