BEST TRAVEL CAMERA - NIKON Zf

While there are many cameras one can choose from for TRAVEL, including a smart phone, but I think I found an absolutely perfect camera for TRAVEL that check all boxes - Nikon Zf.

Thanks man. I've been shooting a Z5 for a while now and got the itch for a smaller camera. But comparing specs, the Zf and Z5 are pretty darn close. I'll keep my Z5, pack the 18-140 and a 50mm 1.8 for portraits and call it good. Now, off to Fiji!

I think you've answered my question about which body to bring to Europe next month. I'm planning to bring a Zf along with a 14-24 f2.8 S, 24-120 f4 S, 35-150 f2.0-2.8 Tamron, and the new 50mm f1.4 when it ships later this month. Hoping the 14-24 allows for some great photos inside and outside of cathedrals and castles, etc. For flash I'm planning to bring a Westcott FJ80 with a trigger and small stand, maybe a clamp of some sort, and also bringing a travel tripod. The Zf supports a simple and small Bluetooth remote which I was surprised doesn't work on Z8/9. I won't be winning any "light traveler" awards anytime soon. Any suggestions/advice on which focusing method, white balance, ISO, and camera modes you preferred? Did you use any filters, or do you think LrC makes them sort of obsolete now? Thanks in advance!

You are not a light traveler! 🤓. When I shoot landscapes I may shoot in raw for more flexibility in post but when I shoot for fun, in shoot JPGs and just use WB for that situation. Just enjoy your travels!

hey, great content ! I'm watching your channel from some time and really like it. As nikon shooter may you tell me do you know is there significant difference between nikon z6 ii and nikon zf. I own z6 ii and some S lenses and i need a second body. I look at nikon zf and nikon z8. How is the high iso between these 3 ? I normally don't push it over 8000 on z6ii. I shoot events and street(weddings etc) What's your opinion, in what shuld I invest. In my city there is no psychical store and everything I buy is based on charts and videos on internet. Again, great content ! Keep up the good work ! 🙏✌

Great questions. Nikon Zf is better than Z6II when it comes to AF but as far as low light and ISO, both are very close. Z6II is somewhat better in low light than Z9 (which I own), I imagine similar to Z8 with 45 MP. 24 MP of Z6II and Zf is very good for most work. Based on what you described, I would also consider the Z6III! You get 24 MP sensor (not 45 like Z8), cheaper than Z8 by at least $1,000-$1,500, better ergonomics than Zf (unless Zf look is important to you). Z8 is more of a beast camera with 45 MP, and if you don't need 8k videos, I would say Z6II video with 6K is more than enough for most people. Hope this helps.

I love the design, but from what I read I'm not sure I'd like the ergonomics. Both in terms of controls, and in terms of putting a zoom lens on it, as it has no grip.

Without any grip, there is very little ergonomics. But once you add an L shape bracket, it helps a lot.
