I got this lite sling and the venture 6L. I prefer interacting with the venture more in every way, but this still has a use case for travel, as its way more compressable and packable, so its good as a secondary bag for travel. Though if I was strapped for cash or just wanted to try out the sling game, this could easily the one sling you'd need to own, as it can do whatever the more pricey models do, its just lighter and has less structure. I've owned slings from alpaka, aer, wandrd and bellroy and I like how bellroy attaches their straps in two spots on either side, it just ends up sitting on the body better than a more fixed or set angle at a single point, which pretty much everyone else does That other way of mounting doesn't always have enough movement and can result in the bag canting away from the body.

Excellent insight. I agree on the Bellroy strap attachment design. They carry very well as a result of that design. I’d like to pick up their smaller venture ready sling to try it out.

I used the heavier Venture sling for a bit and it was good! The internal pockets were really neat. These days i much prefer the Greenroom Metrorunner. The chest strap means i can run with it and the added padding was a lifesaver for the 8+ hr outdoor days while on holiday. Hope youll get to try one too!

I’ve seen the Metrorunner. They look nice! Going to have to pick one of those up for review at some point. Thanks for the tip.

I am confused by your use case. it isn't an EDC but it is an EDC if you are traveling?

Exactly. It’s a great packable option to throw in a bag and bring along as a destination day sling, but I wouldn’t use it as an EDC sling outside of travel.

@@Pack_roam but if you would use it daily while traveling, why wouldn't you use it daily in your regular life?

Its packability makes it a good travel option, but there’s better options for non-travel daily carry.

This review fails because it doesn't question Bellroy's grossly exaggerated capacity spec of 7L. It is closer to only 3L. Just put 7 bottles of motor oil on the table and visually compare to the bag. Common sense dictates that the bag in no way is even close to 7L. I returned mine due to Bellroy's deceptive capacity claims. They grossly overstate capacity for all their bags: Bellroy 6 or 7L is actually 3L. Bellroy's 9L is actually 5L. Their 10L sling is only actually 5.5L .

I don’t disagree that bag companies over state volume. I can’t, however, think of any bag that would pass your oil quart visual comparison test. What would look like next to 35 quarts - about 3 cases - of oil?
