great work by WD, almost there. An important part of the profile of the og 79090 is the crown and crown guards that is not reproduced here. Also if it was thinner. If WD could do a V2 🙏

really liking mine as well. not perfect, but very nice, and they nailed the colors, like you said...even the faux-patina is done well...not "overcooked" like others have done in the past.

Damn, that looks pretty good. I'm currently looking for a cheap watch to take on holidays with me since some cities like Barcelona are notorious for watch theft and even though all my watches are insured, I don't need to paint a target on my back by wearing a Rolex or a Tudor, so this cheap homage might be worth considering...only thing I don't like is that it looks too thick for my liking.

Watchdive are certainly making some well made watches.I have their 7922 bb54 homage with quartz vh31.Really well put together watch with nicely finished watch head,great bezel action fantastic lume & a great small size.Alas on thus occasion its a pass on this as i wont buy anymore watches bigger than 39mm

no they don't. watchdives and san martin work together on SOME watches, but those will have the san martin logo. this is a watchdives build from a different factory than san martin.

Provide your source. What separate factory are you referring to, That San Martin doesn’t utilize in the region. San Martin make the watches for watchdives. Prove me wrong.

@@quarters-eye8922 well, the quality isn't the same. I also work very close with watchdives and know they are using various factories for their watches. The collaboration watches, with "San Martin" on the dial, those are done by San Martin...but watchdives branded watches are not.

Just got mine today. Unfortunately the hour hand and seconds hand is bent/crooked. The hour hand is so tilted I noticed it as soon as I opened the package. Not impressed as I was very much looking forward to this watch. Did you happen to have issues the the hands being tilted?

@@AndySTWT I’m hoping they exchange it for one without issues because It’s a great looking watch. I have a San Martin as well and it has been fantastic, I was hoping for the same qc with Watch dives. We will see how they handle it. Great vid btw

The crown guards are nothing like a Tudor. Also the case is too thick for a 78790. Why put white font on a dial with faux patina markers?. The best snowflake tribute was the now discontinued vintage Sub snowflake by San Martin.

I have actually ordered two versions of this watch and the QC and build quality is dog shit. It seems like they have send nice copies to the reviewers, because mine has so many issues that I don’t even know where to start. Luckily I got it discounted; they are definitely not worth the full price with so many quality issues!

They didn’t sent me these i bought them with my own money, of course there’ might be be qc issues as if seiko doesn’t have for more expensive watches. But its 100 dlls.

@@AndySTWT you got lucky then, since the watches you have shown look good. Mine has rough crown thread, misaligned bezel insert, problem with the lume application on the hour hand, loose, rattling end links that does not fit the case - they are too tall, stick out of the case and both the colour of the steel used and the finish does not match the rest of the watch (satin, almost glossy look versus mostly brushed case). Additionally the case back was not screwed in, it got unscrewed when I was wiping the watch with the towel after taking the shower. Considering the level of the craftsmanship that some Chinese brands can deliver at this price point, I would argue that this watch is not a good value. And it’s not $100, it’s currently listed at Watchdives for $140 before tax.
